Although we arrived late (9:30 pm), the guard had our keys (and tv remote) ready for us. We stayed on the third floor, but since there is elevator it was no trouble at all. It was a pleasant surprise to walk into "our apartment" - best way to describe it. It has a living room with a kitchenette (a few dishes), two bedrooms and a bathroom. The place was really clean and the cleaning lady does a thorough job. Although the couches in the living space are not so soft, they are clean and it is a great place to hang out. The bedrooms are spacious, have ACs and the beds are comfortable. Not only was the bathroom clean, but it also has a bathtub (quite rare in Thailand). As for amenities, they provide towels, soap and toilet paper. For an affordable price, you can also have your clothes washed and dried. There's open (guarded at night) area to park your car and Muang Thong is a residential area, so it is in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood. If you walk about 500 meters, you can reach one of the main roads. Once you cross the busy road (I would recommend using the bridge a few meters down), you can catch a songtew (pick-up taxi) to Tesco Lotus, Makkro and Central Festival Mall (shopping and restaurant options) - all on the same road. There is another songtew line that can take you to Big C store and downtown area. Unfortunately, there is no restaurant in Muang Thong, but you can walk up to 7/11 for quick bite or buy some water. If you interested in a vacation apartment (where you eat out but have enough living space) for your family, Muang Thong is a great option in Hat Yai.

Now known as Muang Thong Family Suite. Nice quiet place but depends what you are looking for. Clean, spacious, living and dining room. Have fridge, dining table and sofa. Provide 2 bottles of drinking water is insufficient but have hot water available outside the unit next to lift along the corridor. Good for families, groups and self driving. Use GPS Synic, just pre-set all visiting locations and Muang Thong, will not get lost. Probably if you need transport or tuk tuk, ask the office for assistance since you may have to walk out about 10 mins to the main road for a passing tuk tuk. At the main road there are some food shops (chicken rice, fruit stall) and a 7-Eleven convenience shop. Opposite is a happening public park but we did not due to time constraint. Housekeeping is updated regularly. Furnishing is dated with old style CRT TV with some cable channels. Can use some upgrade but overall clean and working condition. Stayed in Unit 404, master bedroom problem was bedside table lamp and dressing overlamp was not working so night sleeping dim light was not available. Just inform office of the problem, hope is fixed by now. Free WIFI, high speed at our unit. Large compound with sufficient covered parking spaces. Returnable 500 baht deposit on check-out so prepare cash.

“Single overnight”

Situated outside of main HatYai it is quiet and clean (beds a bit hard). A couple of local restaurants within walking distance but otherwise transport is required. Friendly front desk. I find it hard to write a 200 word review on a hotel that is average but ok value! Rgds Turn176
