After seeing Coco reef for nearly 10 yrs of travelling to and from both Trinidad and Tobago; and reading many mixed reviews we decided to book for our holiday in May. We stayed in the deluxe ocean view room. The entrance is very grand and exudes opulence from the grounds alone. On arrival we were amazed by the views of the hotel and the beach. We were greeted by staff and given a welcome drink (much needed after an 11 hr flight) Checking in was smooth, staff were super helpful and assisted us with luggage up the grand staircase. It is like something out of a movie. Crystal chandeliers scattered throughout the hotel adds to the magical feeling of staying at Cocoreef. I have read many reviews stating rooms are outdated etc...but I can only speak from my experience. The rooms were clean, bed was comfy, the mattress was the best. The hotel in general was clean. The rooms felt homely and a comfortable familiar feel of home...like a beach house but better. Cleaners were on point everyday and you can even tell them what you would like done if you do not need the full service. We found all hotel staff were kind, courteous and helpful. The hotel is full of character...meaning it has been there for a while but seems to be well maintained and this is what gives the ultimate caribbean experience. Allowing you to still feel the island vibes while being in the hotel. Stunning views from the balcony, amazing sunsets. The private beach is the best, especially in the mornings after breakfast it is just you and the tropical pretty fish. There is a bar and restaurant on site and we had delicious breakfasts, with a range of various caribbean dishes every morning. We had no issues with cleanliness or anything not working or being outdated. It met our expectations of the ultimate island holiday. There are restaurants, bars and a shop just outside of the hotel and beaches all around. Nothing is out of reach. We had a fantastic holiday and hope to return soon.

“A slice of rustic yet charming tropical paradise!”

We have always avoided staying at the Coco Reef because of the negative feedback about it being in need of decoration etc., and based on the price we never wanted to have a disappointing holiday! We have always avoided staying at the Coco Reef because of the negative feedback about it being in need of decoration etc., and based on the price we never wanted to have a disappointing holiday! BUT we decided to give it a go and had an amazing holiday! This hotel can only be described as charming and rustic with a million dollar location!! For us it even made Pigeon Point pale in comparison as we love our creature comforts and avoid places with loud pop music! It was like a picture postcard, watching the sun go down while having a drink in the Bachannal bar!! Or enjoying that amazing view while having breakfast at the Tamara Restaurant! The icing on the cake was the staff who were all very professional and polite and open to sharing a joke or two! So if you are looking for bling and miserable customer service, this is not the hotel for you! However if you are looking for a taste or slice of a tropical paradise, then you will have a fab holiday! The only minor observation is that the young lad should be allowed to show his corn rows once neat and tidy instead of hiding it under a doo rag!! There is nothing more appealing to overseas visitors than seeing local hairstyles! The rooms were also very clean, including the bathrooms!
