This hotel is an enjoyable experience on the outside -- tasty breakfast, good views. This hotel is an enjoyable experience on the outside -- tasty breakfast, good views. But when you start digging deeper, it is a total mess of a bureaucracy nightmare and an insufferable "hotel policy". Pros: -Very comfy beds, fell asleep so quickly. -Pretty sweet view in room 710 or higher. -Tasty breakfast, despite the relatively small selection of food. -Some of the workers were very nice (Maria helped us a ton, for example). -Great location (being near the metro with the tram not too far away is wonderful for Istanbul). Cons: -On the first day, we were given 2 Standard rooms despite ordering Standard Seaview. The result was room 110, right next to the road with tons of cars passing by, the other was room 113, with the view on a literal wall. We were told that it's the error on the part of the tour agency, but the vouchers that they sent were for a Seaview room, so that is a lie. The room was changed only on the second day, with NO reimbursment (despite them promising a "complimentary gift"), which left a very sour taste in our mouth. -For context, the person I stayed with has a medical issue that makes them wear сompression stockings before flight. Our check out was 11:30 Sunday, our transfer was 20:00. All we asked was one (non-seaview) room between those times. On Friday we were told we'd receive it, with their "chef" even seemingly agreeing. However on Saturday, we were all of a sudden told that they're fully booked and that we wouldn't have anywhere to stay, so my companion had to wear the stockings for many hours, which, as you can imagine, was extremely uncomfortable. On top of that, we were cut off from the Wi-Fi for the whole last day, felt like a final spit in the face. -It feels borderline impossible for the staff to get anything done. On a mild inconvenience, they resort to saying that the hotel policy forbids it and that the "chef" didn't allow it, when they don't even ask him or check anything (one reception worker came up with some excuse of "I see everything that the guests and staff say in the system" which makes no sense).They keep saying they're fully booked to avoid solving issues despite that seeming like a lie (we were told that they don't have a seaview room for us right now, and then all of a sudden on the next day, 2 rooms magically appeared). So all in all, it's a fairly enjoyable experience in terms of what the hotel directly offers (food, rooms, place in Istanbul). But expect being incredibly frustrated with the staff if some issues arise for you, which will likely happen.

Well : this was the beginning point for my 13 day tour of turkey: noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in : if you book for goodness sake get a room away from the Main Street!!! Marketed as a 4 star : uh nope it’s 3 star , I must say it’s a good location : clean ✔️: staff were a little confusing , maybe because I didn’t speak Turkish : but seemed to be a little bit ill informed with relation to my tour group etc … I’ll give it an ok rating Heads up there are 3 halich hotels in Istanbul : make sure you get the right name : I stayed at the halich port hotel
