This is not exactly a hotel, in the sense of a reception, restaurant and facilities. This is a cheap room, clean, small but excellently placed hotel, but there lies the end of this story. Reception is extremely small, one man desk, where when leaving, cases are left in the hallway, next to reception, not behind locked doors etc Friendly enough greeting and a gent took our cases to the room, where he would explain the wifi log in, but did not. In fact due to the size of the room, he only saw us to the door, then left. We upgraded to sea view, which is worth it and the palace wall just 20m opposite. The door opens but there is no balcony, excusing the 100mm step, which if brave enough allows you into the neighbours etc. I had read the hot water goes off for the shower/tap, but up until the last day we had managed to work it, by reducing the pressure. However, the last day we had a lay in 9am and then...just cold water. Trick here is use the shower by 8am, maybe earlier if busy. We used it in the early evening without much issue. I've once had the problem before in Turkey where they have tanks and works on first come first served. The showers dont have retaining glass and the although the shower has great pressure, that allows the water over the small lip and onto the bathroom floor, so the shower mat and a hand towel, was a standard feature for our floor. A decent spread of toiletries but no shower gel at all, so shampoo or soap was used Day 1 no room service so manually requested everyday there after - great with wet towels etc not Aircon does work, not brilliant, but worked Tea/Coffee no milk and a small fridge with just shy of cold setting Road noise can be an issue, as coaches are constantly passing and the scraping of the roof top bar chairs on your ceiling are frustrating The rooms are small, 2 large suitcases and you are in trouble Breakfast - Well, never quite experienced the spread put on. A few local breads/cheese/meats all cold, salad bar, odd sauces etc. The hot servery was not hot - great tasting scrambled egg, but cold, boiled eggs cold, then day one Turkish sausage luke warm (i'm good with that) day 2 chicken nuggets - day 3 the same but also fries (who eats fries and nuggets for breakfast), broccoli and finally day 4 hotdog or similar...so wierd but also so cold! And eating is over the road 100m The good things - and there are some The staff are fine, not friendly just ok Roof top bar expect £5-8 beer/wine bottles are £40 - odd considering 3 glasses are a bottle another restaurant under the hotel at road level, similar prices Blue mosque and sea both 700m either way - Mosque and all attractions up a decent hill on cobble stones Getting from the airport is around £6 by bus and 15 min walk or uber for £40 May 2026 It is a very cheap hotel that is clean and simple, in a prime location. If you are happy to wake early 8am, for a shower, in a smaller room and not fused re a quality breakfast its just fine. If we went back and now knowing most the city, we would try and challenge comfort over cost, but if on a budget and you don't have high expectations this place is just fine
