This is an affordable, classy, service-based, luxury hotel. My husband and I have traveled to many countries and have stayed in many beautiful hotels. But this beautiful hotel provided the best customer service of them all. This is our second stay at the Ottoman Hotel Imperial. The first was in celebration of our 40th anniversary and this time we were returning with a colleague from a humanitarian trip in Kyrgyzstan. Like the first time, Erhan and the manager Serdar Balta (and many others) went over and beyond in helping us. For example, because our wake up time in Kyrgyzstan was extremely early (1:20am) in order to catch an early flight to Istanbul, we were exhausted. So, Erhan and the team helped arrange transportation from the airport to the hotel. Most importantly, the Ottoman Hotel Imperial provided early check in— 11:00am at no additional cost. This was extremely helpful, so we could rest and sleep. Our colleague who started feeling sick before we left Kyrgyzstan became more ill. The hotel provided an on call doctor who came and after the visit, prescribed & picked up the necessary medication. By the next morning, she felt well enough to visit the historic sights. Location! Location! Location! The Ottoman Hotel Imperial is perfectly located in the Old City which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Right in front of the of the hotel is the Hagia Sophia. The Topkapi Palace is a 5 minute walk; the Basilica Cistern where they filmed the movie Inferno (Tom Hanks) is a 3-5 minute walk. The Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar are close by too. Hotel Restaurant - Matbah is a Michelin restaurant. The food was incredibly delicious. Over our three day stay, we had the lamb shank in phyllo, kebab, calamari stuffed with shrimp, and the quail in garden eggplant with basil sauce. The hotel provided 10% discount for guests. The breakfast buffet was also tasty. More importantly, the restaurant staff were very welcoming, friendly, and caring. A perfect example is Svengi —a long-time hostess (as well as others) who sought to meet everyone’s needs. Birol was also extremely helpful and smiled easily. The friendly and helpful staff were exceptional. We hope to return to Istanbul and stay at Ottoman Hotel Imperial again.

We spent four unforgettable days in Istanbul and had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel. Its location is simply outstanding, right in the heart of Sultanahmet, with a breathtaking view overlooking the magnificent Hagia Sophia. The entire staff was exceptionally professional, kind, and always attentive to every guest’s needs. A very special thank you to Sevgi and Tuncay, whose warmth, kindness, and genuine hospitality made every breakfast a truly enjoyable experience. They made us feel at home and took great care of us throughout our stay. The breakfast was outstanding, offering a rich selection of fresh, delicious, and varied dishes every morning. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. It was a memorable experience, and we look forward to returning in the future.

Estuvimos encantados con el hotel. Voy a subir fotos para que veáis la habitación que nos asignaron y el desayuno, que estaba precioso. Lo que más destacaría es la ubicación: lo tienes todo cerca. Estuvimos encantados con el hotel. Voy a subir fotos para que veáis la habitación que nos asignaron y el desayuno, que estaba precioso. Lo que más destacaría es la ubicación: lo tienes todo cerca. Está muy próximo a la Plaza de Sultanahmet y a la Mezquita Azul, y además tienes el tren muy a mano para moverte por la ciudad. Lo recomiendo al cien por cien. Y sobre todo, quiero destacar la amabilidad de los trabajadores. Limpieza, un diez. Amabilidad, un diez. Desayuno, un diez. La única pega que le pondría es que deberían mejorar un poco el español en recepción. Hay personal que se maneja más o menos en inglés, pero se agradecería que hablaran también algo de español; en algún momento da un poco de corte tener que comunicarte solo en inglés. I'll be uploading photos so you can see the room we were given and the breakfast, which was beautiful. What I'd highlight most is the location: everything is close by. It's very near Sultanahmet Square and the Blue Mosque, and the tram is easy to reach for getting around the city. I recommend it 100%. And above all, I want to highlight the friendliness of the staff. Cleanliness, a ten. Friendliness, a ten. Breakfast, a ten. The only downside I'd mention is that reception could improve their Spanish a bit. Some staff get by more or less in English, but it would be nice if they also spoke some Spanish; at times it felt a little awkward having to communicate only in English. Other than that, everything was perfect. I hope by my next visit they'll have picked up a bit more Spanish.

We stayed here for 5 nights in June. Location is excellent. Our room overlooked Sophia Hagia. It was loud during the call to prayer, but after the 3rd night, I didn't hear it. Some friends stayed in rooms overlooking the tram line and they said it was noisy. The hotel is within an easy walk to Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant and reception staff were so friendly.
