“Short dental visit”

This hotel is not a five star. The heat in the room stayed at 30 and they were not able to change from heat to air conditioning. It was brutal. The windows open slightly but because it was warm out it didn’t help the room temperature. I got food poisoning the second day of my trip from the egg… more

“Pool charges of £18”

We had one night here on a stop over. £8 taxi from airport. We booked this hotel as it had pool that we thought we could make use of for a couple if hours before our flight. “Great service but some challenges”

I was there for a weekend event. The hotel staff were amazing with their rapid response to any needs but I felt like some of the things we brought to their attention shouldn’t have been problems in the first place. Our room’s floor hadn’t been cleaned properly before we arrived so there were bits on the carpet and long hairs from the previous occupant on the inner entry way. On the third day, when I went to tuck in the flat sheet because it was coming undone, I noticed the mattress had a dark brown stain (I am hoping it was chocolate but it could have been poop) at the top near my head. I flipped the mattress so I wouldn’t have to sleep near that. The internet signal was pretty bad in our room. Something was wrong with the thermostat and the a/c wasn’t working. We sweltered in 32 degree temp inside the room for a day before we realized it was a maintenance issue and they came to fix it (the air outside was cooler!). Outside the door was a button you could flip from do-not-disturb to please-make-up-the-room. Ours was on do-not-disturb but the cleaning crew entered the room when we were out and cleaned up anyway. The inside pool was super small (about 10 people max can swim comfortably there), the jacuzzi was missing tiles on the bottom and the handles to enter both pool and jacuzzi were old and wobbly. There was no soap in the showers you had to take before entering the indoor pool. There was a nice looking outdoor pool but you had to pay to use that one. We had a bathtub in the room but no plug to keep the water from draining. The furniture looked dated and scratched up. The TV had no signal so it didn’t work. The mini fridge looked moldy inside and had a bit of a smell. We ate in the hotel restaurant “gourmet restaurant” and while it is nice for one or two meals, it got very tiring after that because of the amount of oil the food was drenched in. While there were a lot of options, the same salads made an appearance three times a day, there were only sugary juices and sodas (no fresh juices and the breakfast is $25 if paid separately), several meals had only rice and plain pasta as the vegetarian hot option with no sauce or beans to put on top, and the cakes were dry and tasteless.
