I’ve stayed here a few times now and I must say the staff don’t get the credit they deserve they go above and beyond for you. Steph at the front desk is amazing so chatty and always has good food recommendations, she takes the time to speak andengage with you same with Kelly she was great for local information, the other girls were also lovely that’s just the two names I got!. We opted for room only as wanted to explore local cafes etc but the smell from the breakfast room was very tempting!. Also thanks to John for letting me in my room when I locked myself out, he was a very nice chatty man, in my experience night staff usually aren’t!. We were checked out by a gent Peter (sorry I know that will be spelt wrongly) but again so friendly, took our luggage and stored it then put it in the taxi for us, again little things that they dont have to do. I’m not one for reviews at all but the way I’m always treated is above and beyond 5 star. My only negative was the way the girls were spoken to by who I can only image was a “manager” the two were taken to the back of reception and you heard every word. I don’t think people give receptionist enough credit, it’s a hard job - please remember they are human also.

I am a full time powered wheelchair user. My husband and I stayed in room 312. The room was good. It was spacious and had good space to manoeuvre a wheelchair. It had space to get my wheelchair alongside either side of the bed. The bed frame was really nice and had space to get a hoist under. There was one plug point at mid height on both sides of the bed. The bed is a good height, about the same height as my wheelchair so it was easy to transfer. Unfortunately, there's no air-conditioning and we had to leave the windows open. We were woken by really noisy pigeons at 6am. The bathroom is spacious and there's room to manoeuvre a wheelchair. The bathroom has a strange layout with the sink a long way from the toilet. The wall mounted shower chair is really small and wouldn't fold up again. The tiled floor was slippery when wet. There's no grab rail on the wall beside the toilet and the toilet was really low. I couldn't use the toilet independently. I couldn't get my knees under the sink. There's a good sized mirror and shelf behind the sink. The lift is extremely small and I could just get my wheelchair in. The restaurant isn't wheelchair accessible but they did offer to bring breakfast to our room. Molly's, the pub attached to the hotel was wheelchair accessible only via the hotel reception. There are a few tables that wheelchair users can use at higher level. The pub closed really early at 9.30pm. The hotel is very well located within a few minutes walk to Union Square shopping and leisure centre and also for Union Street.
