When we arrived at The Gales Hotel LLangollen, it was very busy as we were there for the David Gray Concert. Bronwyn the Manager was so helpful, she even moved her own car to allow us to park our car in the Gales courtyard car park. Our room was spacious , spotlessly clean with a big bathroom. The Gales has a fantastic location in the middle of all the local Llangollen town centre amenities, we had a wonderful breakfast in The Pickle Cafe with Bethan and all her team. All fresh products made that morning, both businesses made our stay with their friendliness and going the exta mile to look after us. We would definitely go back to both venues, excellent value for both The Gales Hotel and The new Pickle Cafe. Good luck to both Annie & Graham from Liverpool!

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at Tower Hill Barns. It’s a great location if you’re doing the same. On arrival, we were greeted by Bronwen at the bar, who checked us in and made us feel welcome straight away. For convenience, we decided to eat and drink in the bar after arriving at around 7:30 pm rather than venturing elsewhere. As soon as we were seated, Bronwen explained that food might take a little longer than usual because a large birthday party had just placed their order. We really appreciated being kept informed, and she made sure our drinks were topped up while we waited. The first England World Cup game was also on the big screen, so we had everything we needed for a relaxing evening. Both the food and drinks were outstanding. Bronwen couldn’t do enough for us—even when I ordered at the bar, she asked us to take a seat and brought everything straight over. Such friendly, attentive service. Five stars from us for the food, drinks and, especially, Bronwen’s customer service. Back in our room, everything was spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom, with fresh towels provided. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and although the room is a little dated with traditional wooden furniture, it was perfectly suitable for our two-night stay. Our only minor gripe was the windows. They are single glazed, and because the hotel is located on a lively street with wine bars and cocktail bars nearby, there was quite a bit of noise and music until around midnight or the early hours. Also with cars passing by in the morning you don’t get many quieter hours. Overall, we had a lovely stay. The excellent food, comfortable room and outstanding customer service more than made up for the minor issue with outside noise, and we’d happily stay here again.

Have walked past this little bar on a few occasions and only ever pooped in for a beer or two. Last time I decided to have a quick look at the menu and I’m very glad I did! Whitebait starter was simple but delish!. Main of roasted chicken, pea puree, buttery pots and samphire was even better. Simple food cooked with real care and attention made for one of the best meals I’ve had for a very long time! Reasonably priced too and a really chilled atmosphere. Nice one!
