It’s a lovely little hotel. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and helpful. We had a family room with a double bed and single bed. Although small it had everything we needed and was very clean. We all really enjoyed our two night stay. My only request would be to have had a fan in the room as it’s so hot in the UK at the moment and (I’m assuming due to it being an old building) no air con. This would not stop us staying again however.

“OK for the price paid”

Stayed for 1 night as a stopover July 2026. Hotel very dated, even their own website says that so credit to them for their honesty. Good points Location. Big room, a double even though I paid for a single. Has a decent pool and games room etc. Big bar area with provided entertainment and reasonable prices. Staff attentive, helpful and very kind (except for the receptionist who was a bit matronly). Good size free, private car park. Not so good. No attempt at designing or theme for rooms etc, haphazard decorating and styling. Maintenance of rooms very poor, rusty fixings in bathroom, cracking and wearing of sealants etc, fittings poorly fixed. TV too small to see from bed. Hotel bit cramped and unkempt, Food OK but portion sizes average. Summary A tired, dated hotel that is in dire need of love and affection. But for the price, I paid £80 for a single room (even cheaper if I had looked around) which was a double room in a great location in peak season I thought I got what I paid for. Staff great and patient, a party of adults with need from a care home were staying and they were very kind and caring towards them. I would stay again because of the price, location etc but my expectations would be more realistic because of this.

The hotel is Very dated. Accommodation is over a main building housing reception, restaurant, bar and rooms. Further accommodation is in numerous separate buildings. We were located in an older building, ground floor. No air con or fan available in heatwave. Bed was badly sprung. Bathroom was very small and fittings very dated and dilapidated . Shower was over bath and tap control was almost impossible to get water temp usable. No internal phone in room to enable requests to management. Swimming pool was nice but on both days of our stay was booked to external private lessons which greatly reduced capacity for guests . Bar did not have air con as advised the system was so old was not usable. One positive was that car parking was free . Overall impression was that the hotel is in need for basic updating. Staffing levels seemed overwhelmed to respond to guests.
