The location is good - on the seafront, but just out of the main area around the Grand Pier so it’s a bit more quiet without being out of it. That’s the good bit - to be fair the staff were pleasant enough and the breakfast was okay too. However, and this is a big however… The hotel has no functioning air-con, we stopped on a weekend at the end of the most current UK heatwave period - so it was cooling down but the rooms were on the verge of being unbearable despite stand up fans being deployed. I get it, no one can help the heat (and it made for a lovely weekend), BUT the room has limited window opening and no way to really create a draught as you can at home. In my opinion you can’t charge full price for a room like that - especially with no warnings on the booking I made many months ago, and as nice, polite and apologetic as the staff are about the issue, its not what you expect from a 21st century major chain hotel in a 1st world country! Waiting to shower until the last minute before you left the room as the bathroom was as hot and humid as the bedroom, and you needed to make a dash for some fresh air. One other issue was the check in - 25 min at 3pm in the afternoon, again I’m sure thats the time that check in becomes available, but the whole system is slow. All of which is a shame - the hotel is ideally located but very tired and worn out as others have reported. There are better choices in Brighton at a similar price.

Ok -the staff are lovely. So helpful and personable. The room is sea front and spacious however ,there is an absence of comfortable seating on the balcony. Ok -the staff are lovely. So helpful and personable. The room is sea front and spacious however ,there is an absence of comfortable seating on the balcony. There are dining room style chairs which, are not comfortable to relax on. The beds is huge which, is a major plus with an iron, ironing board hair dryer etc. The decor however, is very tired, a MAJOR update is needed! Further, the glass that leads onto the balcony is filthy along with the balcony floor. The outside terrace which is used a lot as we are in a heat wave is filthy. Parasols are not up and the tables are dirty, not wiped and empty glasses are left for hours.Im not impressed by this total lack of cleanliness on the outside area. Plant pots full of fag butts and even discarded vapes. This area needs to be hosed down daily. Love the staff but this accommodation ,for a premier room ,is not cheap therefore I expect better attention to your outside space

I stayed here for 1 night with a friend on Sunday 12/07/26. After checking the website for something else before we went we discovered there was no air con in the rooms. This was a massive concern for us and I spoke to the hotel reception on the phone on Saturday to find out what our options were for cancelling and getting a refund of our buy a gift voucher. I was told to contact buy a gift company first. I did that and was told that it’s non refundable or transferable but if the hotel would confirm they are happy to refund it then it could happen. I tried to phone the hotel and speak to a manager Saturday late afternoon and was continually cut off with nobody answering, I presume this was due to the checking in times. This is when the main problem started, I spent 4 hours on guest relations chat trying to resolve this, spoke to 2 different people telling me that the manager from the hotel would phone me Saturday evening at some point. Eventually after complaining to the chat advisor I was told my best option was to contact hotel myself!!!!!! I did get hold of a manager called Fiona at 10pm approximately Saturday night and she was very honest with me and extremely helpful, she offered us a complimentary breakfast and free parking if we did decide to go. As the weather was supposed to be cooling down we took the chance and went. Checking in process was extremely slow as not only was the air conditioning being replaced, they also were updating their computer system! Lots of hot and unhappy guests in the queue. Our room on the first floor was still very warm even though a fan had been supplied. We went out in the evening and by the time we got back at midnight it was much better in there and we did manage to sleep. If I could just rate online Guests relations it would be 0. The staff at the hotel had a very difficult job but handled it in a friendly professional manner. I did manage to speak to Fiona at reception and thank her for her help, she would receive a 5 star rating from me and she is is a huge asset to the company. Breakfast was very good. Parking can be a bit tight if you have a large vehicle. Overall it was a positive experience from the hotel team but a very negative experience from the so called guest relations online dept.
