The location is excellent, close to anywhere worth visiting and seeing in Brighton including: the pier, the pavillion, the lanes, many restaurants and venues are but a stones throw from the hotel. The hotels restaurant offers delicious food we thoroughly enjoyed and the quality and range of breakfast choices is brilliant as well as yummy. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. Once we'd arrived we really felt immediately relaxed as Casey on the front desk was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and had all that we needed plus there's a 'have you forgotten it' service with many free small items on offer incase you have forgotten an essential. The hotel's temperature was just right in the rooms and corridors, warm but not too hot. The corridors even had a nice smell, almost a spa aromatherapy faint scent. The room including the bed linen was very clean and modern, we slept very comfortably and it was lovely and quiet. If you have a seaview room the views are there to enjoy. The view is also there to enjoy from the restaurant plus there are lots of comfortable and relaxing seating options on the hotels ground level. To top it all there's a pool, gym, sauna it's a lovely, lovely hotel that we will definitely go back to. I can't wait too, when we were leaving Jack, I hope it wasn't Jake? Sorry if it is, was also friendly, polite, helpful, smiling and terribly professional. He and Casey plus, restaurant staff, basically all staff that we crossed paths with were polite and conscientious; room valets too were quiet and working hard altogether producing a really, really wonderful place to stay, for peace, rest and enjoyment. I have been telling work colleagues and friends just how much we enjoyed our stay. Finally, it was really good value, we didn't stay over a holiday weekend so I expect prices are slightly high in high season but we were treated incredibly well and the experience was good value for the money we spent. We have stayed in Brighton a number of times in the past but now we are aware of the Leonardo we will be booking there next time!!!!!

“8/10 other than bar staff.”

Great from the start, very friendly staff. Great location. My only problem was an employee called Katie who worked behind the bar, who refused to shut the door when I complained about being cold! She was very rude.

Lovely hotel, with really friendly staff all round the hotel. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Hotel clean throughout with rooms cleaned & fresh towels each day if previous towels had been used. Very calm and quiet hotel but with a good vibe. Right on the beach, near the pier and very close to all the restaurants which are out the back of the hotel. The only negative I'd say was the swimming pool experience. Children under 16 have to be accompanied IN the water by an adult. Therefore with my 11 and 12 year old very competent swimmers, I couldn't sit on the pool loungers and supervise them, or pop into the sauna for 5 minutes (even if positioned to be able to keep watching them). If the adult gets out of the water, the child/children have to as well. No lifeguard so I understand the parent supervision rule, but it seemed very extreme to have to be in the water at all times, especially as the pool is only about 10m by 10m so you can never be out of view of the children.

we only stayed for 1 night at the Waterfront having been frequent guests at this hotel and the one in Stroudley Rd Brighton for 13 years and have to say this stay was very below par. We had booked into the Executive Super King Room with Seaview. We managed to get into the room at 2pm but not without having to ask twice if the room was ready given how much we were paying for 1 night. I asked when we put our bags into the concierge at 8 am that morning if the sofa bed could be made up and to have 4 extra pillows. Got to the room and this had not been done so I rang down to reception and asked again. Come 4.30 pm still nothing, so rang the internal line and rang and rang and rang, no answer and thought they must be busy, I then rang the external number just to get a response and amazingly it was answered on the first ring? The receptionist said she would send someone up to make the sofa bed and bring pillows. An hour later still no one, so I rang again, no answer internally and had to ring the landline again? What is going with your reception? Finally someone came about 30 mins later. So from our original request at 8 am that morning till 5.30 pm that day is pretty poor service. The receptionist staff didn't seem particularly helpful and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience. It's disappointing given that we are flying to Barcelona this year and are staying in a Leonardo Hotel (Fira, Barcelona) because we like the brand, Come on Waterfront, must do better!
