Excellent hotel, with very helpful and professional staff. Room was lovely, very clean and it was the small touches that made this hotel a cut above the rest. Special thanks to Rachel, Ellie, Filipe, Bella and Ama for their good service in the bar and restaurant. The Japanese meal was excellent and beautifully presented. Would stay here again.

“Superb stay”

Had an excellent day over the bank holiday weekend in May. Stuff already attentive, especially Ibrahim, who was able to tell us about local area and places we wanted to go to gave us good advice. Always had a great smile on his face and greeted us when we return to the hotel. All staff were lovely… more

Had an excellent day over the bank holiday weekend in May. Stuff already attentive, especially Ibrahim, who was able to tell us about local area and places we wanted to go to gave us good advice. Always had a great smile on his face and greeted us when we return to the hotel. All staff were lovely and helpful The breakfast is amazing, I had the kippers and they were proper kippers not boiling the bag. Highly recommend this hotel

“Nice stay, but please clean the windows so the view can be enjoyed”

Stayed here for a birthday , requested an upgrade if at all available. Sadly was not allocated. We had already booked a sea view room, this was quite small with small balcony. Bed comfortable nice linen and pillows. Windows were murky so view with door closed not as clear as could be. Hotel staff … more

Stayed here for a birthday , requested an upgrade if at all available. Sadly was not allocated. We had already booked a sea view room, this was quite small with small balcony. Bed comfortable nice linen and pillows. Windows were murky so view with door closed not as clear as could be. Hotel staff very friendly and gave voucher for a glass of prosecco in the room. Got bus into town for dinner was very straightforward , took 10 minutes Nice stay - hopefully if we come again we may be lucky enough for a complimentary upgrade.

I recently stayed at Malmaison Brighton and had a mixed experience overall. Pros: There are several positives worth highlighting. The hotel offers free parking, which is a great convenience in Brighton. The room itself was clean and well-presented, with a comfortable, high-quality bed that made for a good night’s sleep. I also appreciated the in-room amenities, including Sky TV channels and a selection of quality hot drinks, along with a fridge – small touches that make a stay more enjoyable. For those who enjoy walking, the hotel is connected to a long and pleasant seafront route into central Brighton, which is a nice way to explore the area. Cons: The room was tiny, small - very small. But that is what I paid for, so fair enough. But, be warned! Unfortunately, the surrounding area leaves a lot to be desired. It feels quite run down, with many nearby shops closed or shuttered. There are very few food options available locally, as many places appear to have shut down, which limits convenience during your stay. The lack of investment in the area is noticeable, and there’s very little to do nearby. While Brighton itself is a lively destination, the hotel feels quite far removed from the main attractions, with little happening in the immediate vicinity. Service: Service was inconsistent. Thea stood out positively, providing friendly and welcoming service that made a good impression. However, the rest of the front desk team were noticeably less engaging, often appearing unapproachable and rarely smiling. First impressions matter, and a warmer, more welcoming attitude from staff would significantly improve the overall guest experience. Overall: Malmaison Brighton offers comfortable rooms and some nice amenities, but its location and inconsistent service detract from the experience. A good option if you prioritise comfort and don’t mind being a bit removed from the action, but there is clear room for improvement.
