Travelled as part of a conference, the location was great. Easy to find from the station and right on the sea front. Perfect to catch the sunset and a nice walk along the front before our meeting that day. The bedroom was lovely, really clean and the bar had a really nice atmosphere. Definitely worth another visit in the summer

“Pleasant stay”

Location fantastic on the seafront. Room was nice with big balcony - Privilege room. Bed was comfortable but there were a few maintenance issues - lock to bathroom door broken - which was quickly rectified when brought to their attention - Marianna ( so helpful). Location fantastic on the seafront. Room was nice with big balcony - Privilege room. Bed was comfortable but there were a few maintenance issues - lock to bathroom door broken - which was quickly rectified when brought to their attention - Marianna ( so helpful). Carpets need replacing. It's a beautiful old building but needs some updating. Breakfast wasn't great (buffet style) food was just warm! Parking was £28 per night. A few mentions to excellent staff - Marianna and Salah - fantastic service ❤️ Would definitely visit again.

I recently stayed at this hotel as part of a group booking to attend a conference. Between 7 of us, we had very mixed experiences. Some people were in ‘premium’ rooms but were lacking the features associated with these types of rooms and some were not but did have those things, for example a coffee machine. The cleanliness of rooms was incredibly inconsistent. All rooms had thick dust in places. Some rooms had marks on the walls or dirty marks in the shower. There was a general feeling of a lack of care by cleaning staff. Some people put up the do not disturb signs but still had staff enter. I myself came back to find the windows wide open, which I had not done myself and which contradicted the signage telling us not to do this! Some people asked for cleaning that never was done repeatedly over multiple days. Breakfast was fine but could have been better with more options and was also in a small, cramped space. People had to be told to get their breakfast and then eat in either the bar or the lobby area. The restaurant was an odd experience when we ate there. We ordered and it took about twenty minutes for two of us to be told that they ‘couldn’t find’ an ingredient for my dish and didn’t have ingredients for another. The waiter seemed to want to rush us out of the restaurant too and kept sighing at us. When booking, people should be aware that there is the main hotel and then what is effectively an annex which is accessed through narrow corridors. We were placed in the annex, which I would best describe as a part of the hotel that is an afterthought. It was impossible to get a properly decent sleep each night because you could hear every noise from the corridor and the rooms either side of you. I was awoken at 4:30am every day by the alarm of someone in the room next door. The curtains didn’t fully close over the windows and there were lights in the courtyard that my room looked out onto, so it was strangely light during the night. Bizarrely, there was also only one usable plug socket in the room which was on the wall above the desk and therefore actually completely impractical. Staff on the front desk were friendly and did their best to assist, with the manager even coming to clean and inspect rooms himself when a member of our group complained, but there is an overall lack of high standards.

Hotel was Clean, staff were mostly welcoming, and breakfast was nothing to complain about. We stayed Saturday 28th March - Sunday 29th and upon check in we were not made aware of any events/functions occurring. But at 10:30 when we got back to our hotel room, there was thumping music so loud that we could not even hear our TV. I had to call reception to ask when it would be over, to which he said 12, it did end exactly on time. I raised this with the staff member on the desk when I checked out, to which I got somewhat of an apology, but only after she said "when were we meant to have told you?" and when I said, upon check-in, she did agree that someone should have said something. I would have had nothing to complain about if it had been communicated to us that there was an event, but as it stands it did leave a bad taste.
