from the moment we arrive staff were wonderful - reception was helpful efficient and lovely friendly faces greeting us with enthusiasm. All the staff worked so well together and genuinely appeared to be enjoying their roles. The staff attending to rooms were young smiley and enthusiastic. The rooms were spotless - I walked into the bathroom and there was not the too often sticky bottom to the feet. The bathrooms had rain showers and really soft towels. The beds were spotlessly clean. Views are sublime of Clifton one side and suspension bridge the other. But above all for me it was the staff that made this hotel - really working hard to make every guest feel important Location is superb and real value for money There was no noise - there is a large terrace full of people having fun but no noise in the rooms Amenities excellent from supper in the restaurant to a drink in the lovely cosy bar or outside on the terrace

“Just adequate”

Room and breakfast really nice but don’t dine here. Very disappointing food. Shouid have just had a pre-dinner drink overlooking the bridge gone elsewhere to eat then back here to sleep. Very comfy bed. Breakfast chef much better than dinner chef. Poor short rib beef, been left under heat lamp. F… more

Poor adaptation-availability of dietary requirements. Partly redeemed by the service of Pete, who was exemplary and will go far. Other service lacklustre. Could do better with better management/care of details,

I thought that the arrangements for check in were good and the staff were professional and polite. Our room was very small and the décor throughout the hotel is too dark, including in our room which with the bathroom had inadequate lighting and mirrors. Information was scarce, for example it would have been useful to have had easy access to the breakfast menu in advance of breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and the other aspects of the room were adequate for our needs. Overpriced in many ways including the price of a pint of beer. I was particularly disappointed that as far as I can tell, I was not aware that my upgrade bid had been accepted and that the small room with a limited view of the Avon and the Suspension bridge classified as an upgrade! Had I realised, I would have declined the offer.
