We were looking forward to a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary and Rhinefield did not disappoint. A grand hotel in all senses with a charming young staff, very comfortable rooms and spotlessly clean. Dinner in The Armada restaurant was really fine dining and a walk round the gardens afterwards was suitably romantic. A morning visiting the New Forest Show - lots of country fun - was followed by a lie by the hotel pool to relax! We hope to return next time we fancy a bit of luxury in the shady depths of the New Forest.

We had our wedding at Rhinefield earlier this month, and it was absolutely incredible. From start to finish, the service was exceptional and the whole team went above & beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious, the drinks were always flowing, and there was never an empty glass on the table! So many of our guests commented on how stunning Rhinefield and its surrounding grounds are. It’s such a beautiful setting, and if it’s within your budget, we would highly recommend opting for exclusive use, it made the day feel even more special. A huge thank you to Annette, who supported us throughout the entire year of wedding planning. She always took the time to listen, answer our questions, and help in any way she could. We also shared plenty of laughs along the way, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. 🤍 Another special mention goes to Angie, who looked after everything on the wedding day itself. She was so calm, reassuring, and incredibly organised. She kept everything running seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. Outside of our wedding, we have loved staying at Rhinefield. The rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is fantastic, and it’s a place we’ll continue to return to for years to come. It will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Thank you to everyone at Rhinefield for making our wedding day truly unforgettable.

“Not 5 star”

The location of the hotel is superb for exploring the New Forest and surrounding area. The location of the hotel is superb for exploring the New Forest and surrounding area. The room we had was spacious and the bed comfy, towels changed daily and plenty of toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk topped up dailt as well. BUT the room was dusty and when moving a chair to pick up something there was the last person's snacks on the floor. Reception sorted this and the air-conditioning with no problems . The evening meal, in the conservatory, was poor service, meals took an age to arrive, drinks were wrong and one of our puddings were given to another resident then taken off them and offered to us, we refused this. The pot washer smashed somany plates it ridiculous. Staff were seen using their hands to pick up ice. Then breakfast, where do i start slow, over cooked, buffet running out, staff not working as a team, there were 6 ofus in the group all us unsatisfied. The manager listened to us and tried to rectify the situation and did look after us well the following day. Pool area clean and tidy Conservatory noise

The hotel itself was lovely, we had the Munro suite and it was very elegant and cool with multiple air conditioners in the bedroom and lounge. The drinks trolley was refilled with everything for our second night once we requested it and we were happy with that. Only downside is breakfast was served downstairs so it was quite noisy early in the morning if you wanted a lie in. Otherwise it was very comfortable and luxurious. We have been several times before to the Conservatory restaurant and enjoyed our experiences. This time it was very different. The chef changed the way a menu item was going to be served because of allergies namely the garlic prawns. But we were not advised, so rather than make a new oil without capsicum, they didn't provide any at all, so no garlic or chilli or oil, just a dish of dry over-grilled prawns and burnt focaccia you could do noting with, no sauce to mop up Salad was lettuce and cherry tomatoes -that’s it Burger was dry and overcooked and tasteless Fries cup came out with the burger but it had no fries in it. How could a kitchen not notice that, of the staff member for that matter. French fries were ok as was salt and pepper calamari but just ok Couldn’t get water or salt and pepper to the table despite asking twice. Took over an hour to get it Alot of staff were on duty but they don’t seem to want to do anything and get away with doing as little as possible and so left it to the new girl Kiya to do basically everything. Staff not particularly friendly or welcoming or very efficient. Only new girl and breakfast waitress, they all had an attitude of we should be grateful to get any attention. I noticed ir across the board, they seemed to like to point out you were in the wrong because you did not understand their system. Lots of people had afternoon tea bookings but then they just said sit anywhere and clearly didn;t have tables preset. Despite multiple staff they were all chatting behind the bar and not actually welcoming or serving anyone. If you approached them for service, yoiu were told to sit down and someone woul dbe over but that took 15 minutes for evry interaction. We just wanted a drink because it was scorching. Bar staff uninterested in serving face to face, only dockets. Conservatory Kitchen clearly couldn’t care less about what they are plating up. Lots of half eaten food observed on tables. Seems an attitude across most of the staff and clearly from manager example. Saw one on duty who did nothing but wander around with a walkie talkie gossiping with staff. Outside tables need a good scrub, they were quite filthy either food or drink stains. Pool only open 10-4pm because they don’t have staff to deal with it - hopeless if you want a morning swim like at 8 am. It also looks pretty rundown and too small for the venue, like the size of a home pool, very poorly maintained. Not enough sun loungers. Gym not manned until spa opens so no air con on as remote was removed. It was ok just not as we had hoped.
