The hotel was very clean, the standard room we had was very small & there wasn’t much storage for clothes for our 3 night stay. We’ve stayed here 3 times & have always found the staff to be very welcoming, and this time was no different. We were checked in by Beth on reception, who was lovely, & explained how we could get a discounted price while we were parked in the shopping centre car park right behind the hotel. Hotel location is perfect for the centre and for parking. We’ve stayed would visit again but will perhaps try to book a larger room

This would have been full marks had it not been for the poor breakfast. Pros: Excellent location, only a stones throw from Chester high street. Discount on parking, although I was in the ‘tight’ car park. I drive a swift, it was tight! Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Room was very clean, modern. Not a great view but that helped not being on the street side for noise. Could figure out how to cast my device to the TV screen like the welcome page says it could but not a huge issue. Cons: Was told breakfast would be discounted if bought the day before so I ordered it the day before. £14 which is on par with Premier Inn and vs a small breakfast in the close by town. Still I thought handy being in my hotel. Arrived to find they didn’t have my name on the list so embarrassment as there was queue behind me. There were elements that were ok and expected of a hotel buffet. Standard bread and pastries. Coffee machine and juices. It was the hot food and service that let it down. Often waiting for items to replaced. Poor quality of items. Fried eggs dried out and scrambled like a bowl of yellow liquid. Tasteless mushrooms. Sausages and bacon ok but had to wait. Roast potato’s on a breakfast? They were awful. Dried carrot sticks. Just not worth the price. Very little fruit. I’ve had much better at chains. That coupled with no staff to clear plates away. So getting a plate of fruit eating it around stacks of dirty dishes. This didn’t reflect the service at reception. A lovely hotel in an excellent position but if you provide breakfast it needs to be better quality and service
