I’ve been taking my Mum here for a Mother’s Day treat for many years. Before coming, we had a courtesy call asking if there was anything they could help us with before arrival and were asked what firmness of pillow we would like. A couple of extra pillows were left on our bed on arrival which was a nice touch. The staff are always so warm and welcoming and make you feel so special. The rooms are extremely comfortable with good tea and coffee making facilities. Really comfy beds and lovely big towels, robes and slippers. The air con wouldn’t blow out any colder but being able to open the window was perfect. Such a good, quiet nights sleep. Have previously eaten in the restaurant which was incredible but just had breakfast this time. The offerings were huge and once again, the staff were fantastic. Such an interesting room it’s served in too. Could spend ages looking around in there. We didn’t use the health facilities this time but have always been impressed by them. We’ve stayed in different rooms over the years and were lucky enough to have a suite one year which was amazing! The hotel is situated near Chichester town but you do need a car to get to the hotel as it is a bit of a drive out along country roads. Supermarkets not far in case you need supplies. Unfortunately no fridges in the rooms. You won’t be disappointed with you stay here.

Lovely and cosy, this quintessentially British hotel is ideally located for the race circuit and other local landmarks. Whilst the communal seating areas in the hotel are homely and warm in decor, this hotel does need some modernisation, with tired carpets/flooring, patchy and marked walls and general tiredness throughout the buildings and in the communal areas/hallways. I stayed during the week and the gym and pool was packed with members using the facilities. With regards to my room, I stayed in a ground floor one and whilst it was small and simple, housekeeping let it down massively, with a lumpily-made bed, dust on surfaces and a view of a wall outside the window (hence why the blinds were pulled down when I arrived). The bathroom was also tired and unclean, with water pooling around the sink tap and under the packaged soap on arrival, the shower screen could barely move back and forth on its hinge (so I had to squeeze through the small gap between the screen and the wall to get into the bathtub for a shower) and the bathtub and wall tiles had marks throughout. Room only came with complimentary tap water, teas and coffee and biscuits, but at least slippers and bathrobes were provided. The main standout me staying there was the restaurant attached ) Farmer Butcher Chef) - this, I highly recommend. I would say a stay in this hotel is good but it really is let down by overall housekeeping and some tired and poor interiors.

“A shame”

Disappointed - too many add in costs. Want to exercise your dog in the field? ( A good idea by the way) That will be £12. Want breakfast? That will be £25 a head. A glass of wine? £16 . Want to bring your dog? That will be £15 a night and so on. The hotel needs a refurb too
