The heating in our room didn’t work but Callum on reception upgraded us to another room quickly and efficiently. Great staff, great food and a lovely location. Extremely pet friendly. They welcome dogs in the restaurant. Would highly recommend.

From the moment you arrive, there’s a level of calm, class, and attention to detail that just hits differently. It’s not over-the-top flashy—it’s effortlessly premium. The setting alone is ridiculous (in the best way): rolling countryside, beautifully kept grounds, and that feeling you’ve stepped into somewhere properly looked after. But what really makes this place stand out? The people. Rachel and Shelley were absolutely brilliant—warm, welcoming, and the kind of staff who make everything feel easy without you even noticing it happening. Archie deserves a special mention—genuinely outstanding. The kind of service that doesn’t feel scripted, just naturally spot-on. You can tell he actually cares, which is rare these days. And then there’s Richard—the bus driver. I didn’t think I’d ever write that sentence in a hotel review, but here we are. Easily the best bus driver ever. Friendly, punctual, and somehow manages to make a short journey feel like part of the experience rather than just getting from A to B. The rooms are exactly what you want—spotless, comfortable, and finished to a high standard without trying too hard. Food? Properly good. Not just “hotel good”—actually worth looking forward to. What ties it all together is how seamless everything feels. No stress, no awkward moments, no chasing anything—just consistently excellent service across the board. It’s the kind of place you book for a night and immediately start figuring out when you can come back. If you’re even slightly on the fence—book it.

Disappointing lunch at the Bar & Grill. We had a really enjoyable day at Goodwood with family, watching a friend take part in a driving experience—which he absolutely loved. There was a great atmosphere around the track, with plenty of classic cars racing and even small planes taking off nearby with people enjoying flying lessons. Seeing historic aircraft like Spitfires added something special to the day. We also stopped at the aerodrome café for tea and cake, which was a lovely touch. Afterwards, we drove a few minutes to the Goodwood Hotel & Spa for lunch at the Bar & Grill. The food and service were both excellent, and we appreciated being able to sit outside. However, we were quite disappointed with the appearance of the restaurant itself. The website gives the impression of a stylish, high-end setting—something along the lines of a Soho House standard—but in reality, it felt quite dated and tired, more like a 1980s Travelodge. It didn’t match the expectations set online, which was a shame given how good the food and service were.
