Stayed for a week on a Majestic coach tour. I had room 343 which was a great roomy accessable room, 2 bathrooms, one normal with bath/shower & one walk in shower with seat etc. Plenty room for wheelchair. Twin beds, relatively comfortable, warm with radiators but you could slide window open for air. Bar was great with 241 drinks & wine wasn't bad. Buffet breakfast was nice, full English with yoghurts/fruit/cereal etc. Our dinner was buffet with a roast each night or veggie options. Staff very friendly & helpful. Its just around the corner from Cathederal & old part of town, near central shopping area, opposite bus station & near a National Trust property. All in all I'd definately stay here again if visiting Coventry. It does need a bit of an update on decorating & windows need a clean but hey, its a good ole fashioned budget hotel.

Clean Bedding, but the Hotel Needs Refurbishment Our stay at Britannia Hotel Coventry was a mixed experience. The hotel appears quite dated, and many areas seem to be in need of refurbishment. While we understand that older properties require ongoing maintenance, it was disappointing to be allocated a room that appeared unfinished and in need of repair. We were travelling with a toddler, and our bathroom had missing tiles behind the toilet, exposing gravel and unfinished surfaces. Naturally, our little one became fascinated by it and started picking up the gravel and throwing it into the bathtub. This was not only inconvenient but also raised concerns about the condition and safety of the room. The bed was another issue. Although the bedding was exceptionally clean and fresh, the mattress felt very old and worn. We could clearly feel the springs through the mattress, which made sleeping less comfortable than expected. On a positive note, the housekeeping team deserves recognition. The room was clean, and the bedding was spotless, which we genuinely appreciated. The cleanliness standards were much better than the overall condition of the room. Britannia Hotel Coventry has potential, but it would greatly benefit from updating its rooms and completing repairs before allocating them to guests. Better maintenance, modernisation, and more comfortable mattresses would significantly improve the guest experience. I hope management invests in these improvements, as the staff and housekeeping are doing a good job, but the property itself needs attention to match those efforts.
