“Not what it was”
Great room, great staff but this once great hotel has gone to seed a bit. Difficult to navigate the rabbit warren to get to riverside rooms.

“Faded glory”
I've been going to the Royal County for 25 years and it's been sad to see its decline. Good things first - great location and the staff can't do enough. Hotel is ok. Great location. Warm welcome. Air-conditioning not working and not possible to open window. Buffet breakfast was tired - adequate but no more than that.
