“A brief visit between longer stays”

We are regular visitors and always enjoy the friendly professional staff , the very comfortable rooms and the relaxing spacious lounges . The staff are brilliant and can't be faulted , the buffet breakfast is first class supported by an excellent restaurant. Deserving of a 4 star hotel

What a wonderful hotel! From the moment i arrived, it was clear that a great deal of care goes into maintaining both the building and the guest experience. The entire property is full of character and atmosphere, with plenty of beautifully kept lounge areas and quiet spaces where you can sit, relax, and unwind. Whether enjoying a drink in the bar or settling into one of the many comfortable seating areas, there was always somewhere inviting to spend time. The rooms were spotless, well maintained, and very comfortable. The sofas and communal furnishings throughout the hotel were particularly cosy and made the whole place feel welcoming and homely. What really made my stay exceptional, however, was the staff. Every single member of the team was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. Their warm and attentive service created a wonderful atmosphere and made us feel valued throughout our stay. A beautiful hotel with fantastic facilities, a relaxing ambience, and outstanding staff. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay.

“The Lansdowne is difficult to compete with and many of the surrounding hotels would do well to emulate them.”

Our stay was between the 29th of May to the 3rd of June. Even the harshest of critics would find it hard to find fault with any of the staff throughout the entire hotel - absolutely nothing is too much trouble. I don't know many of their names but special mentions to Zuzanna and Hollie in reception… more

Our stay was between the 29th of May to the 3rd of June. Even the harshest of critics would find it hard to find fault with any of the staff throughout the entire hotel - absolutely nothing is too much trouble. I don't know many of their names but special mentions to Zuzanna and Hollie in reception who were extremely helpful and Rose as always a big help especially to my elderly Mother who is now wheelchair bound - but she always kept my Mother's spirits up every day - but everyone in the restaurant was extremely welcoming and helpful. There are 2 lifts and the one at the far end is wide enough to take a seated wheelchair guest and easily accessible to most of the rooms on all floors. There's a lot going on amenities wise with a pool table, many wonderful and comfortably furnished rooms to relax in, read the papers, having coffee and afternoon teas with friends and family. Also a great venue for Weddings,parties and celebrations in rooms below the hotel and of course an excellent choice for corporate meetings. They also have gallery exhibitions and singers to entertain the guests on a regular basis - not forgetting the well stocked bar although my only criticism would be that there isn't any real ale - they do have 'Old Speckled Hen' on tap, so it is carbonated. I think the introduction to something like 'Sussex Ale' on a pump would be very popular with a lot of senior male guests especially. The Location of course is excellent, just across the road from the beach and the exhibition centre, the theatre and the Eastbourne tennis tournament just a stone's throw. The Hotel is spotlessly clean from the rooms to throughout the hotel. A good night's sleep is guaranteed as it is pretty quiet - obviously Friday and Saturday nights go hand in hand with celebrations so raised noise levels are naturally expected to be a little bit higher!
