Jessica, the events manager was very professional and efficient in arranging the 'celebration of life' reception for my late mother. Everything at the hotel was first class. The location, food and service by the hotel staff could not have been better. My family thanks them all most sincerely. Would definitely recommend for such an event.

The hotel is well placed for the beach and the town, it is clean and the staff are excellent. Bar food menu could do with a revamp. The hotel is well placed for the beach and the town, it is clean and the staff are excellent. Bar food menu could do with a revamp. I was at the hotel on business my room lacked a suitable desk for work, this is minor, the pool, gym and facilities all very good. Not the best value for money a little expensive, watch out for the flexible rate on your room this went up from £279 a night to £340.

We arrived as a couple met by the concierge who is always very helpful and polite a real touch of class to this hotel , When we were in our room we noticed that no Cornish spring water was provided but water in a jug with a cap on it come on Royal Dutchy this is not in our opinion very hygienic either supply bottled spring water or don’t the liquid soap also did not seem the normal excellent quality as you normally supply is there a reason for this? We were a little disappointed with the food fries were frozen not cooked from fresh, Over all we enjoyed our stay but standards are slipping,

We had high hopes of dining at this luxury hotel, having never been before and we wanted somewhere special for our Silver Wedding Anniversary evening meal. The hotel is opulent and appealing with a fabulous location overlooking the sea. Initially the evening went really well, although we struggled a bit to choose a dish we fancied from the menu. We appreciate a small menu of a few dishes done well but as I say we had difficulty selecting anything that really appealed. Anyway I had fish and chips and my wife ordered the lamb rump. My meal was really good and it was nice that the lamb (quite fatty) came with a good selection of veg and dauphinoise potatoes. However as the evening wore on and the restaurant emptied (only 5 tables in use anyway), the service got slower and slower. It took ages to get another drink, even water, I don't know why they only pour one glass of water at a time, rather than leave the carafe on the table, bearing in mind it was the incredibly hot May BH!! We wanted to take a coffee on the terrace as the evening was so lovely but there were no staff to be seen anywhere! Eventually we took ourselves off to the terrace and assumed someone would come, if only to give us the bill. Eventually I had to go in and find someone and order coffee. We were surprised and disappointed that no reference or thoughtful gesture was made in ref to our Silver Wedding Anniversary despite the Receptionist congratulating us when we arrived! We shared a dessert in the hope that there might be a little celebratory chocolate decoration on the plate, or a complemetary glass of fizz! A rather disappointing experience.
