From the moment I walked through the doors until the moment I checked out, my entire experience was nothing short of phenomenal. The welcome I received was warm, genuine, and professional, instantly making me feel valued as a guest. Every single member of staff I encountered went above and beyond with a smile. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and their attention to detail was second to none. A very special thank you to Tallal, Kayvee, Nikita, Matthew, Gareth and Jim, each of whom played a part in making my stay so memorable. Their kindness, professionalism and genuine care for their guests were evident in every interaction. They are an absolute credit to the hotel, and their exceptional customer service is something that truly sets this place apart. The hotel itself is immaculate, beautifully presented, and incredibly comfortable. Every area was spotless, the atmosphere was relaxing, and it was clear that a huge amount of care goes into maintaining such an exceptional standard. My room was outstanding—stylish, comfortable, and equipped with everything I could possibly need. The food and service were equally exceptional. Every meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and served by attentive staff who genuinely cared about making every guest’s experience memorable. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. You can tell there is a culture of excellence here, where every member of the team takes immense pride in what they do. It’s rare to find a hotel where every aspect of your stay exceeds expectations, but this one genuinely does. As a legal professional travelling from Ireland, I stay in hotels regularly for work, and the attentiveness, professionalism and consistently outstanding service I experienced have made this an easy decision. This will now be my hotel of choice for all future corporate stays, and I look forward to returning many times. Thank you once again to Tallal, Kayvee, Nikita, Matthew, Gareth, Jim, and the entire team for making my stay so special. This is, without question, one of the finest hotel experiences I have ever had, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for world-class hospitality.

I think the words 'faded grandeur' were made for The Vermont Hotel. It's a 1930s building (my favourite period of design) with what seem like a lot of original features and my imagination always runs away with what adventures and balls must have happened their over the years - it did feel a bit like stepping back in time. I have to say the decor was suitably period in some places but felt a bit dated in others. However they are clearly aware of that as they were undergoing renovations whilst we were there (one of the workmen told me I was the last guest to travel down in the original lift on the right as they were replacing it that day!). My room was comfy, although no air-con - apparently that's going in with the refurb. I was worried when I saw the earplugs by the bed, but honestly they weren't needed! Anyway, I love Newcastle - studied and worked there in the 90s and we used to have works drinks in The Vermont sometimes so happy memories. I was at a workshop for one of my days this time - lunch was tasty and plentiful. I only had poached eggs on toast and some fruit for my 3 breakfasts - and it was all perfectly fine (although the tiny fruit platter ran out two mornings - probably only feeds 2-3 people - and top ups were slow - please put more fruit out!). The gym was basic but I did manage to get it all to myself for my 3 workouts so I can't complain! Although there was only one 12.5kg weight - not sure WHAT happened to the other one! Honestly though - don't let any of that put you off. The Vermont is a charming period hotel, the staff are all absolutely LOVELY and service was great, especially from the reception team. (I did get a room with a wall as a view at first and asked politely to switch, then got a great view of the Tyne, bridges and Glasshouse.)

First impressions were good, we liked the style of the hotel decor, very 1920s The staff were friendly especially the porter, he was really helpful during our whole stay. The location was great, right on the quayside and only a short walk to the train station and city centre. We were disappointed with our room, our key card did not work so we had to get that changed. I then noticed loads of hair on the chairs in the room. The bathroom was tired and in need of refurbishing, there was mould on the ceiling and silver fish arrived during the night. Every time we had a shower the water was lukewarm and one of the towels had stains on. We did not want to keep going to reception and seem like complainers as we already had been to chat with reception a couple of times. When we arrived there was building work going on that we were not made aware of before our arrival. We asked to move rooms but were told that we were in one of the quieter rooms. Fortunately they did not start the renovation work too early in the morning, it was about 9am but still interrupted what should have been a peaceful morning. The breakfast was nice enough and would recommend visiting the rooftop bar “above” good view, cocktails and great vibe. Was disappointed with Livello’s bar, they tried to charge us £10 each for entry until we told them we were staying at the hotel but the bar was empty, we stayed for about half hour and then left. Overall the hotel is ok but not good value for money
