We stayed in this hotel before and on the outside and down stairs it’s clean tidy and comfortable. We also had the same rooms . 0250 . 0251 . Two single rooms both lack a few things that needs some attention to detail. Firstly room 0250 . Door bath room was very dirty plus sink had no cold water only tap broken along with the sink which was cracked. But main bedroom comfortable. In room 0251 the window box needs something to cover light as blind to short . These were not up to a good standard. Let’s the hotel down as very thing elsewhere was fabulous. Breakfast was ok it’s a self service thing and they had a good choice. Shame the lady was not as nice. She needs to be more friendly to wards people . Had to ask for afew items .

“Clean room but no A/C on third floor”

We stayed here overnight in July 2024 and were happy to find a room available but very disappointed when we found out there was no A/C. It wasn't very warm outside, but our third-floor room under the eaves was stiflingly hot. There was one small window under the gable, but there was a little attachment screwed on that prevented the window from being opened more than a few inches, so we could get hardly any air through the window. We used the oscillating electric fan all night, but it didn't help the temperature very much. I feel the lack of A/C should be stated on the website. The room looked as if it had been decorated in the 1980s, but the room and attached bathroom were very clean and nice. The only problem was how hot it was. The first two floors were noticeably cooler. Our room had a nice coffee setup with a coffee pot and even some packaged cookies. The ground looked attractive from a distance but not so nice close up. It looks as if they have laid off all their gardeners and only hire someone to mow their lawn once in a while. All the flowerbeds in the courtyard needed weeding and trimming. One nice thing is there is a narrow country lane adjacent to the grounds that goes through a forest if one fancies a little woodland walk. Surprisingly, it costs extra to use the pool. The dinner buffet looked kind of average, but we drove 5 minutes down the road and had a yummy dinner at the Hogget.
