We headed to Hull for the football and wanted somewhere central enough that we wouldn’t need a compass, a taxi, and a packed lunch to get anywhere. We headed to Hull for the football and wanted somewhere central enough that we wouldn’t need a compass, a taxi, and a packed lunch to get anywhere. The Ibis ticked every box… and a few we didn’t even know were on the list. There’s no parking at the hotel itself, but fear not, there’s a multi-storey just a few minutes away. £3 for 24 hours. THREE POUNDS. I’ve paid more to accidentally park on my own driveway. Location-wise, it’s spot on. Surrounded by bars and restaurants and just a short stroll to the old town. Close enough to feel cultured, far enough to escape when you’ve had enough culture. There’s also a bar in the hotel, reasonably priced (which in 2026 feels like spotting a unicorn) and it serves an excellent breakfast. The kind that says, “Yes, you did have one too many last night, but I forgive you.” Everything was clean and tidy. The rooms are basic but ours was absolutely spotless. And honestly, that’s all you really want. I don’t need a chandelier or a grand piano. I just need to not question my life choices when I look at the carpet. The real highlight, though? The staff. Every single one we met was fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and seemingly immune to the chaos of football fans. Special mention has to go to Lieghann (yes, that’s how it’s spelled and yes, I checked twice). She was super helpful with a brilliant personality. I’m fairly certain the unusual spelling is the result of a tragic Scrabble incident, but it makes her unforgettable. We got a cracking rate and would happily stay here again. Next time we’re in Hull, football or otherwise, we know exactly where we’re heading.

Basic, but nice. I found it really quiet. Good location to access everything in the city centre.

Rooms very small and basic, not worth what charging. Ok for contractors or no frills stays. Location good with overnight car parks just 5 mins walk away. Staff nice and friendly and good priced food in bar area. Seating in lobby/bar cheap plastic chairs. Rooms old and dated, hard mattress, thin walls and what looks like a caravan shower/toilet pod in the room. Toilet didn't flush well. Small window overlooking utility yard. Could hear noise from utility yard in the morning and hear the lifts being called from our room.
