I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. The location was convenient, making it easy to get around, and the overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel offered good value for money, and the facilities were more than satisfactory. What truly stood out, though, was the breakfast service. Nilam was incredibly kind, attentive, and perfect at her job. She made me feel very welcome and ensured everything was just right. Her warm attitude and professionalism made a big difference to my experience. I was genuinely happy with both the hotel and the service, and I would definitely recommend staying here. A special thank you to Nilam for making my mornings so pleasant!

“Great with a couple of niggles.”

The Apex temple court hotel is ideally located close to St Pauls Cathedral and Temple tube station, both of which are a few minutes walk away. The Apex temple court hotel is ideally located close to St Pauls Cathedral and Temple tube station, both of which are a few minutes walk away. The rooms are not big, but manageable for one couple sharing. The rooms come with a tea and coffee service with a generous amount of tea, coffee and biscuits. The bathrooms are modern and the shower has good pressure. The bathroom is not soundproof however and the door is a wooden frame with a frosted glass panel. Restaurant – the breakfasts are great. A choice of a hot meal with fresh coffee and toast, as well as a cold buffet, makes for an excellent value breakfast that sets you up for the day. The dinner experience was somewhat disappointing. While the food was great, the policy of filing water glasses a couple of centimetres and then leaving with the water bottle, needs to be scrapped immediately. When I ask for water, I want a bottle brought to the table and left there, and for that bottle to be replaced frequently as it empties. I spent a large portion of my meal with little or no water while waiting for a refill. This is also a ridiculous user of the waiter’s time and very inefficient. Also, can it with the upselling. If I want a G&T, don’t ask if I want a double. If I want a double, I’ll ask for it. Most annoying of all is the “invisible chips” on the menu, the cost of which goes to struggling hospitality workers. I was wrecked from a long day of traveling and just wanted to feed myself the family in order to get the kids to bed. Being asked for charity in the middle of all of this is embarrassing for everyone concerned and is annoying for me. While I was happy to donate, I don’t believe that asking guests for money while they are eating is in any way appropriate. Find another way to do this or just scrap it altogether. Between the water and the charity, we decided not to use the restaurant for the rest of our stay and had dinner in other venues. Also, and this is just a training issue, the young lady who served me at the bar on my second night did not fill the measures properly when making the drinks, leaving quite a lot of our drink in the bottle. I let it go, but this is not on. Overall I’d return but won’t eat in the restaurant again. You are losing revenue and guests with this, so adjust accordingly.

“Exceptionally good hotel with excellent service”

We had a faultless stay in two rooms with our teenage grandsons who also lived the hotel. Rooms were interconnected and immaculate. Service was first rate. Totally met our needs.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last 10 Years and I have found the experience to be positive for the most part, and the team to aim to fix any issues or problems with somewhat minimal difficulty. Prior to my arrival I had sent an email to the hotel to confirm arrangements (as I have before, more so after promises made by the former Duty Manager who has left) and they advised me on arrival the email was not received. I got given a room that was not as requested, or that was against guest notes I have left with them for future stays on a previous occasion, and I had to ask for a new room which was much better and cosier. The experience was very much positive, and I had noticed a number of changes that had been made since my last stay in February 2026, which was that one of the lifts had been restored to operation (the other one out of service for 'upgrade' work). However I have to say the new lifts aren't much better, as they make a horrendous scraping sound going up and down the floors and there is a sizeable delay from when the doors close and lock to when the car moves to the selected floor and the voice inside is incredibly loud (more so at night when guest rooms are right beside it). The rooms have had their shower spaces refurbished, gone are the terrible shower floors made of small square tiles that pooled water and allowed it to flow into the main bathroom floor (with no anti-slip surface) and in their place are a non-slip tile floor (large format tiles) placed at an angle allowing water to drain into a new drain at the bottom of the shower cubicle. Water no longer can escape the shower area as there is a raised step into and out of the shower space. This is much better! The service from the hotel staff was minimal, as I just kept myself to myself, but Gill was a great help with the room move after waiting a long time following my call to the reception. Only negative was the end of the stay when the taxi situation was a right mess - Being advised it was 5 Minutes away twice and then "It declined" at the end with Gill going to find one on the street for me and no help with luggage unless I asked. For a 4 Star Hotel, and in past, This hotel offered help with luggage to and from taxis or vehicles and this has been noticeably missing and needing guests to request this. Other hotels offer this without question. Just a suggestion for the team? I cannot say this review is a complaint, but there is always room for improvement as with many things in life in general.
