I am not a fan of Holiday Inn and this is only the 4th Express property that I stayed in. The team were friendly, polite and welcoming on arrival. The keycards did not work when tapping on the metal area below the handle on the guest room door and annoyingly I had to return the front desk. The employee advised that I had to tap over a hole drilled part way through the door above the handle. I must have stayed in 500 hotels and unless this is a new concept that I have never encountered, I can only imagine that this has to be explained dozens of times daily to guests new to the property. It would make sense to advise guests of this anomaly at check-in rather than after they try to get in their room and fail. The room was clean except for a couple of removable marks on the inside of the bathroom door and marks to the shower tray that may have been removable. Silicone sealant was detaching from the shower tray, the pedal on the bathroom bin was broken otherwise the room was in good condition. Tea and coffee making, an iron, ironing board and hairdryer were provided. The TV was small by today’s standards. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was easily controlled and had good pressure and hot water. The third floor corridor walls were heavily scuffed and a few areas needed painting. Breakfast was basic and included for all guests. Efforts had clearly been made to try to offer most expected items. For me, the vital missing item was cut fruit although whole oranges, apples and bananas were provided. At least five hot food items were offered. There was yogurt and compote, two pastries, two muffins, brown and white better quality sliced bread, cucumber slices, cheese slices, cereals and extras such as Nutella, honey, Marmite etc. Juice was OK and came from a machine, and was not massively diluted as it can be. The coffee beans were not good quality and powder was used instead of fresh milk. One male employee in particular worked incredibly hard to keep the buffet stocked with freshly cooked food and pastries. So many other hotels fail dismally to do this. He also worked hard clearing tables and cleaned them properly. He was the star of the hotel. Unquestionably the breakfast and front desk staff make this compact budget property the pleasure to stay in that it was. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to West Ealing Elizabeth Line station or 25 minutes walk to Ealing Broadway station. There are bus stops right outside, making it also perfect for Hanwell or Southall and other places. Fantastic restaurants are nearby and plenty of shops. West Ealing is a real living residential area of West London. Don’t expect great views and lots of tourist attractions but for good value, great staff and clean rooms, this property ticks the boxes.

Great location to Wembley stadium about 45 mins on a direct bus (483) and 30 mins in an uber. Receptions staff upon arrival were amazing! Polite and full of knowledge / info about getting to the concert m, when best to have breakfast , offering to organise uber / taxi sharing with fellow guests to keep costs low. Couldn’t have asked for more. Hotel was immaculate. Room was spacious and spotless. Air con already on in advance and my request for two single beds was fulfilled. Iron, hair dryer and iron board available. Table and chair availabke. Working TV. Floor to ceiling windows. Bathroom very modern with Dove washing items. During the night you could hear a pin drop - complete silence!! Started to think I was the only guest at one point! Not even traffic was heard! Breakfast was great! Hot and cold and pastries available with Nutella , honey and several different sauces and milks available. Hot breakfast was warm not cold. Coffee machine available with fresh orange and apple. The hot chocolate option on the machine wasn’t working so Cadburys sachets were offered instead. Staff polite and smiling greeting staff during breakfast. Plates cleared away when finished quite quickly. I rung the front desk approx midnight after arriving back from concert because I forgot the WiFi password and the phone was answered almost immediately! Again, another helpful employee. Just brilliant I’ve stayed in higher rated star hotels and received less service. One small fault is the WiFi is not very strong but that didn’t bother me - it might bother the younger generations though! Will definitely come back. 10/10

“A decent alternative in Ealing”

After spending several nights at the hotel, I came away genuinely impressed by the combination of comfort, cleanliness, convenience, and friendly service. It offered excellent value for money and made exploring London straightforward while providing a peaceful place to return to each evening. I would comfortably rate my stay 4 out of 5 stars and would happily consider staying here again on a future visit. The first thing I noticed upon arrival was how modern and well-maintained the property looked. The reception area was bright, welcoming, and efficiently organized. Although I arrived slightly earlier than the standard check-in time, the reception staff greeted me warmly, explained everything clearly, and had my room ready without any unnecessary waiting. Their professionalism immediately created a positive first impression. As a solo traveler, I particularly appreciated how safe and secure the hotel felt. Access to guest floors was controlled, the lobby remained active without feeling crowded, and there was always a member of staff available if assistance was needed. Returning late in the evening after sightseeing never felt uncomfortable, which is something I always value when traveling alone. My room was compact but thoughtfully designed. Every inch of space had been used efficiently, making it comfortable without feeling cramped. The décor was modern with neutral colors, creating a relaxing atmosphere after long days exploring London. The bed deserves special mention—it was extremely comfortable with supportive pillows and quality bedding that made getting a good night’s sleep easy. The room was spotless upon arrival. Housekeeping had clearly paid attention to detail, with fresh linens, sparkling bathroom fixtures, clean carpets, and dust-free furniture. Throughout my stay the housekeeping team maintained the same high standard, replenishing towels, toiletries, tea, coffee, and other essentials consistently. The bathroom was modern and functional. The walk-in shower provided excellent water pressure and maintained a consistent temperature throughout every shower. The complimentary toiletries were perfectly adequate, while the fresh towels were soft and replaced regularly. Everything worked as expected, and I experienced no plumbing or maintenance issues. One of the biggest strengths of the hotel was how quiet my room remained during the evenings. Despite being in London, outside noise was minimal, allowing me to relax and sleep without disturbance. I would still recommend requesting a higher-floor room if available, as this may further reduce any occasional street noise. The air conditioning worked efficiently throughout my June visit. Temperatures outside were pleasant but occasionally warm during the afternoons, so returning to a comfortably cooled room made a noticeable difference. The climate controls were simple to use and maintained a steady temperature. Wi-Fi performance exceeded my expectations. The connection remained stable throughout my stay and was fast enough for streaming videos, browsing maps, checking emails, making video calls, and planning each day’s itinerary. I never experienced frustrating disconnections or slow speeds. Breakfast each morning was included with my stay, adding excellent value. While the selection wasn’t enormous, it covered everything needed for a satisfying start to the day. There were hot items alongside pastries, cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast, juices, tea, and coffee. Everything was regularly replenished, and staff worked hard to keep the breakfast area clean despite the busy morning periods. The breakfast room understandably became busiest shortly after opening and again around peak commuting hours. Visiting a little earlier or slightly later made for a more relaxed experience, although even during busier times the staff managed the flow efficiently. The customer service throughout my stay remained consistently friendly. Every staff member I encountered greeted guests politely and appeared genuinely willing to help. Whether answering questions about nearby transport, recommending local restaurants, or providing extra supplies for the room, everyone maintained a welcoming attitude. The hotel’s location proved to be another major advantage. Ealing itself has a pleasant atmosphere that feels calmer than central London while still offering excellent transport links into the city. Reaching popular attractions was straightforward using nearby public transportation, allowing me to enjoy the excitement of central London before returning somewhere noticeably quieter each evening. As someone traveling alone, I appreciated being able to walk around the local neighborhood comfortably. There were supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, convenience stores, and takeaway options within easy walking distance, making it simple to pick up snacks or enjoy dinner without venturing far after a busy day. The hotel also served as an excellent base for exploring different areas of London. Each morning I could set off with minimal hassle and return in the evening without lengthy complicated transfers. That convenience significantly improved my overall holiday experience. One feature I particularly liked was how efficiently everything operated. Check-in, breakfast service, housekeeping, and check-out all ran smoothly. There were no unnecessary complications, long delays, or administrative issues that sometimes affect larger hotels. The communal areas were always clean and tidy. Reception, corridors, elevators, and dining spaces appeared well maintained throughout my visit. Regular cleaning was clearly taking place, helping the property maintain a fresh appearance. Storage space within the room was adequate for my solo trip. There was enough room for luggage, clothing, and personal belongings without making the room feel cluttered. Power outlets were conveniently positioned for charging devices, something modern travelers always appreciate. Lighting throughout the room was also well planned. There was sufficient brightness for reading or working while softer lighting created a comfortable atmosphere during the evenings. The blackout curtains were particularly effective, allowing uninterrupted sleep despite the early June sunrise. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, there were a few minor areas where improvements could elevate the experience even further. The breakfast menu, while perfectly enjoyable, could benefit from slightly more variety for guests staying several consecutive days. Adding a few rotating hot options would provide additional choice without dramatically changing the service. The room, while comfortable, was relatively compact. Solo travelers will likely find it perfectly adequate, but guests with multiple large suitcases may find space somewhat limited. Fortunately, clever room design helps maximize the available area. Elevator waiting times occasionally increased during the busiest breakfast period when many guests were leaving simultaneously. This wasn’t a major issue but was noticeable on one or two mornings. Despite these relatively small observations, none significantly affected my enjoyment of the stay. The positives comfortably outweighed the negatives, especially considering the hotel’s pricing compared with many central London alternatives. What impressed me most was the hotel’s consistency. Cleanliness remained excellent every day, staff maintained their friendly attitude throughout my stay, and all facilities functioned reliably. That consistency often matters more than luxurious extras because it creates confidence that guests will enjoy a comfortable visit. For solo travelers especially, I believe this hotel strikes an excellent balance between affordability, comfort, security, and convenience. It provides everything needed for a pleasant city break without unnecessary extravagance. Business travelers, couples, and even small families would likely find it equally suitable. By the end of my June stay, I genuinely felt I had chosen the right hotel. It offered a peaceful environment after long sightseeing days, dependable service from friendly staff, comfortable accommodation, and excellent transport connections. Those qualities combined to create a very enjoyable experience. Overall, I happily award Holiday Inn Express London - Ealing by IHG a well-deserved 4-star rating. While there is always room for small improvements, the hotel delivers exactly what it promises: clean, modern accommodation with welcoming staff, comfortable rooms, reliable amenities, and excellent value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable base while visiting London, and I would certainly consider booking here again during a future trip.
