“Super hotel”

We stayed for one night and it was our first time at this hotel. Almost all the staff were first class, Fay on check in was excellent, explaining everything to us. The Concierge had also helped us with the Accessible Parking. Nisha, in the Clipper Bar, was excellent in the evening. However, the only rude member of staff we encountered was in the Clipper Bar, before it opened at 5.00pm, I do not know her name. The hotel was clean and spacious, we were upgraded to a One Bedroom Apartment, which was marvellous but next time we would opt for a room in the main part of the hotel, as getting to the tower with a wheelchair can be challenging. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and Neenu went above and beyond to get us a River View table and make sure we were happy with the Breakfast. Next time, I would take time to use the Spa, it looked beautiful. The 2 minute walk to the o2 was great, as we went to see Mamma Mia The Party. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

“A really great stay”

I had a marvellous stay at the Intercontinental O2. I went to the O2, and stayed here, a young man named Sabarr at reception who arranged for a late check out. I was a bit tiddly, but Sabarr was really helpful

As a frequent traveller Intercontinental by IHG has always been my first choice of a five star hotel and have rarely been even slightly disappointed .... until now. Firstly, let me describe what was excellent about it: Our Premium Club room was excellent, clean and comfortable and with a lovely view over the River Thames. We were staying there as we were attending a concert at the Indigo 02 and so its own two minute walkway to the 02 was extremely welcome. Additionally the breakfast (and restaurant staff) was exceptional and one of the most comprehensive breakfast choices that anybody could ever wish for. So what went wrong? Firstly, the signposting from the tube station is appalling, and directs one along a road that on a very hot day was a 15 minute nightmare, not the quick 5 minute walk suggested in their hotel description. At one point we even passed the hotel as the entrance is not at all clearly signposted. A true welcome upon arrival always sets the tone for an enjoyable stay but in this the O2 Intercontinental failed and a bad start sets the tone for any traveller. As an Ambassador Card holder I am lucky enough to enjoy a dedicated check-in desk. In this instance it was closed and so I checked in at the reception desk. The check-in agent was pleasant enough but did not seem to be particularly engaged with the process. No problem at all and he handed me our room keys saying you are in one three hundred and six with no indication of room location. We took misnaming of the room as Floor 1, room 336, but there are no rooms on that level, as we discovered upon exiting the lift. A helpful porter told us that we should be on the 13th Floor, Room 336 so once again we used the elevator. Maybe this mistake was ours as were travel weary, but surely at reception we should have been told our room was on the 13th Floor. We attended a concert in the 02 that evening and indeed it was just a couple of minutes away using the hotel's own walkway. Again it would have been extremely useful if pre-stay documentation said that on leaving the tube station enter the 02 and take the first exit on the left, which is the Intercontinental's walkway. When we checked out I mentioned this but the receptionist was clearly not interested and said 'Oh well, never mind" or words to that effect. Hence my low rating for this hotel as I think that at over £400 a night the reception staff should be a little more personable and on the ball as far as customer service is concerned. Would I stay there again if going to the 02? No, I would stay at the Hyde Park Inercontinental and that the 17 minutes or so direct journey from Green Park Tube Station.
