As a 21 year old young girl from Italy, my experience at the hotel was perfect. I visited the UK (march 6 - march 10) for Laufey’s concert at the O2 Aline, Barbara & Loveness were very nice and helpful. The location was a bit hard to find because google maps is a little bit trickier in Canary Wharf but it’s not the Novotel’s fault. The neighborhood feels very safe even at night as a young girl traveling alone. The atmosphere was calm and refreshing. Transport in London is superb so without even stressing I could get the metro at any time. I think it was every 3 minutes for the Jubilee line to reach the city center. Breakfast was included for me and it was amazing. The room was beautiful and very clean and the view of skyscrapers and the canals was amazing, especially at night. On the day of check-out, I had issues with my luggage because after packing everything it just wouldn’t close. I asked the receptionist if I could leave it with them so I could go buy a new luggage hand free and she agreed to help me which was really nice. I deeply apologize for writing this review months later and I really hope this review benefits the ladies, the chef and the whole team behind that made my stay even more enjoyable.

We arrived at around 10 pm and our room was ready, which was appreciated after a long journey. Unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked, so there was no possibility of an upgrade despite asking. That’s perfectly understandable. As an Accor ALL Platinum member, I also asked whether breakfast could be included, as we’ve occasionally experienced at other Accor properties. Initially I was told this benefit was reserved for Diamond members. However, Neli kindly contacted the manager, Akif, who approved complimentary breakfast for both of us. That gesture was genuinely appreciated and immediately changed the tone of our stay. Our welcome amenity was already waiting in the room, and we were allocated a room on the 32nd floor, which offered lovely views. Breakfast on the 38th floor is definitely one of the hotel’s highlights. The views are fantastic and make for a memorable start to the day. While I personally wouldn’t normally spend £25 per person on breakfast, I can certainly understand why many guests would feel it’s worth it. The swimming pool and sauna were both in good working order, which was great to see. The only small disappointment was that the changing rooms had no shower gel or shampoo available. Late checkout was another area where I felt the conversation could have started differently. My initial request was declined, but after asking whether my departure time had actually been checked, the team kindly extended it until 1:30 pm, which we appreciated. A special thank you also goes to the gentleman looking after the luggage storage. Every time we crossed paths, he greeted us with a warm smile and somehow managed to wish us “Good morning” even when it was clearly the afternoon. It became a running joke between us, and each encounter ended with another smile. One final mention goes to the gentleman working on the rooftop terrace bar. When I asked for bottled water, he suggested it would be complimentary rather than using one of our welcome drink vouchers. It’s a small gesture, but exactly the kind of thoughtful customer service that leaves a positive impression. Overall, while this wasn’t my favourite Accor stay, the kindness and flexibility shown by several members of the team—especially Neli, Akif, the luggage storage attendant and the gentleman at the rooftop terrace bar—made a real difference. Thank you all for looking after us.

As a long-standing Accor loyalty member who has stayed at this Canary Wharf property before, I was highly disappointed by my recent experience. Upon arrival, I was surprised to be asked for photo ID. When I questioned this policy, the receptionist and manager had a huddled, unwelcoming discussion. I was then hit with an unexpected £100 security deposit for "potential room damage." This policy is hidden deep in the small print and should be clearly disclosed during the Accor booking process so guests can make an informed choice. Charging a damage deposit is particularly ironic given the poor condition of the suite. On arrival, we found multiple long female hairs on the sofa, duvet cover, and window ledges. The living areas and bedroom seating was stained, the bedroom light was flickering, and the shower tiles had brown mildew stains. Breakfast was equally disappointing. We had to wipe down our own crumb-covered table with a napkin. When I asked for Eggs Benedict, I was abruptly told it cost extra, and the staff member walked away before I could even order. For a hotel at this price point, standard a la carte egg dishes are usually included. As a loyal customer, this sub-standard experience felt like a cash-cow operation where guest satisfaction comes last.
