I would like to highlight that the only reason I am not leaving a bad review is because of the outstanding service provided by Alina, the manager. During breakfast, after learning that it was my birthday, she arranged a thoughtful surprise that made me feel very special. What impressed me even more was that her excellent customer service started long before she knew it was my birthday. She was professional, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout my stay. Unfortunately, there were several issues with the hotel’s facilities. The air conditioning in the room did not work properly, the swimming pool water was too cold, and the sauna was only lukewarm, which was disappointing. Despite these shortcomings, Alina truly made a difference to my experience. Her dedication and exceptional hospitality turned what could have been a negative stay into a positive one. Because of her efforts, I am leaving a good review.

“Alternative hotel to visit family at Aspen apartments”

We stayed there to attend our daughter’s wedding. There’s another hotel (Dorset) which is a bit closer to Aspen apartments but it was a bit expensive when we booked. So we decided to give Novetel a try although the rates were similar. Overall the hotel wasn’t too bad, but compared to Dorset, it’s not so new and nicely decorated. Also it didn’t offer body lotion which is quite rare in London. We were in particular disappointed by : 1. As we paid £260/night this time (without breakfast), we expected good service. However the room was not properly checked. We discovered the wash basin leaked rather heavily after we have unpacked. Luckily we were given another room with the same view overlooking the London landmarks but four floors down and it’s quite a task for us to pack again. 2. The small fridge has a glass door and the light was on all the time. Although we complaint to the front desk and the receptionist said there’s a switch to turn off the light, there was none at all even though we checked carefully. Finally we need to cover the fridge with a large towel because the lit-up fridge was facing the beds. I’d highly recommend the hotel to replace all the fridges to give light sleep guests a good sleep

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past several years and have always found reasons to return. However, this time, my stay was really uncomfortable due to the temperature in the room. The air conditioning unit seemed pre-set to not go below 19 degrees which, in the weather we were having, was nowhere near cool enough to provide a good night’s sleep. This was the case throughout the hotel, as confirmed by friends staying in their own rooms. The units would then switch off during the day meaning no one was able to cool their room, despite the temperatures outside being high. My previous stays here have been when the temperatures outside have been just as high as they were during this weekend so I know that the system could previously accommodate the need for advanced cooling. I hope this isn’t a cost-cutting measure at the expense of customer experience.

Our stay was unfortunately quite average overall. Upon arrival, the check-in experience was disappointing. The staff member who assisted us was neither particularly welcoming nor informative. Key information such as check-out times, breakfast hours, and pool opening times was not provided. Overall, it was a poor first impression. When we entered our room, we discovered that the electricity was not working. While we appreciate that the issue was resolved promptly after reporting it to reception, there was little acknowledgement of the inconvenience or apology offered. Just a sorry would have been fine. The air conditioning was also ineffective. On a very hot day, it made little difference to the room temperature, leaving the room feeling stuffy and uncomfortable. The room was generally clean, although there were a few scuff marks on the walls. While these were minor issues, given the price of the stay, I would have expected a higher standard of presentation and attention to detail. The bed was comfortable, and we enjoyed using the pool and sauna facilities, although the pool area was very small and there was nowhere to sit down and relax by the pool. Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately we will not be returning. This is disappointing, as we had been looking forward to our trip.
