This hotel is very central, being next to St Peter's Square and the tram, although most places are walkable. There are restaurants, bars and coffee shops immediately when you leave the hotel so you don't need to go far, as well as the art gallery and library very close by. I found the hotel very clean, private and quiet. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for yourself and I thought the large very clean reusable water bottle provided was a nice touch. The bathroom had every needed and the temperature/air conditioning controls worked perfectly. If you are looking for a blackout hotel room to sleep in, this is the best there is, even a small cover is provided for the microwave clock so that it doesn't disturb you. I stayed in a studio double room. The bed is up against the wall. This didn't bother me as a solo traveller but you would have to climb over, have the other person get up or wriggle out the end of the bed if you were in a couple which could get annoying. There is also no access to the light switch or any table/shelf space on the wall side so having your phone/drink etc. next to you at night would be impossible. Even on the other side the space provided for this is very small, so can only fit a cup or phone or glasses at once. I used the bar area once, in the evening, and the reception staff double up as the bar staff. It was very quiet so this was fine, if a little strange. I ordered a pizza from the menu and was told I could only have one if the oven was on, which wasn't ideal as it was about 6.30pm so hardly as strange time to eat. Fortunately, the oven was on and the pizza was very nice. Two things I would improve would be more than two normal teabags provided (there were two English breakfast, one mint and one green tea), however that is a very small thing. The bigger thing for me was that the hotel door was not lockable or secured with a bolt or chain from the inside, which I would have preferred. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, it was a good price and a good experience and I would rebook for myself, but not as a couple due to the bed.

Great 1 night stay at The Wilde Apartments. Apartment lovely and clean, and well stocked for longer stays. Central location which makes it an ideal base to explore. We didn't have breakfast as trusty old Wetherspoons is less than 2 minutes away. We did have a drink in the bar when we returned and found the prices comparable to the bars in the city. Wilde Apartments will now be our 'go to' place when visiting Manchester

“Lovely welcoming reception staff, security rude, arrogant and very unwelcoming!!”

First time we have booked to stay here and wow probably the worst first impression of any accommodation we have ever had was the daytime Saturday and Sunday security staff. He was rude, arrogant and very unwelcoming, there was no greeting just him loudly demanding to see our online reservation even tho he had a full list infront of him. I’m not sure what security issues Wilds have had in the past but it was like we was trying to get into an high security Government building rather than apartments. Distinct lack of customer service and personality he would be better suited on a building site or closed office building not being the face and first impression of a company. Upon arriving at the 9th flor was was greeted by a lovely guy sat at the reception “table” he was through and explained everything we needed to know and was super friendly, we were on the 16th floor after asking for a quiet room. The apartment was very clean and bright. Great kitchen appliances with free tea and coffee making facilities including fresh milk in the fridge which was a great added extra. The bed configuration wasn’t the best with one side being flat up against a wall meaning there was no bedside table/shelf and no plugs for charging phones. But there were plenty of plugs in the room and it was manageable for one night. The bathroom was small and compact with a great rainforest style shower as well as a handheld shower head. We didn’t use the bar area or breakfast area so can’t comment on those. On check out we left our luggage there which in hindsight was a great idea but then trying to retrieve it later that day was like entering Fort Knox again with the same security as the previous day demanding our key cards and him not being able to grasp we handed them in on check out. We had walked past him that morning yet he still didn’t believe we were guests here. Luckily we showed our luggage tags and was finally allowed to enter to collect our own belongings after several attempts of him flicking through many sheets of paper!! Surely him having a handheld tablet would be better? All in all it was a very pleasant stay. And after speaking to the reception staff regarding the security he made it clear they were aware there was an issue and he had been spoken to previously.
