Stayed here for 1 night as I was at a concert in Newcastle. Room was clean, staff were helpful. That’s all I am asking for, I can’t say anything else

This is an amazing hidden gem right in the heart of the Toon. I really can't find fault with it other than the difficult-to-open coffee sachets!

My partner and I selected Motel One Newcastle for our anniversary stay in January, having previously experienced the Motel One Manchester, St Peter’s Square location on multiple occasions and appreciating the brand’s consistently high standards. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 12:00 pm, ahead of the scheduled 3:00 pm check-in, to enquire whether we could leave our luggage while we explored the city. The team were more than happy to accommodate this request and, to our pleasant surprise, informed us that our room was already ready and available. This thoughtful and efficient service set a wonderful tone for our stay. To mark our anniversary, we were delighted to find a handwritten card in our room, a genuinely thoughtful and personal gesture that made our visit feel extra special and very much appreciated. We had reserved the room designated “The One with a View” for a duration of two nights and three days. The accommodation was impeccably clean, tastefully appointed, and offered lovely views across the city. The bed was comfortable, and the room was equipped with all necessary amenities, ensuring a highly comfortable and relaxing stay. The hotel’s location was particularly lovely. Stepping outside onto a charming cobbled street in the heart of Newcastle added real character to the experience. The hotel is also conveniently situated close to the train station, approximately a 5–10 minute walk away, making it ideal for travellers. Despite its central position, the hotel maintained a calm and peaceful atmosphere, allowing for restful nights. The public areas, including the lobby and lounge, were elegantly furnished and maintained to a high standard, reflecting the quality synonymous with the Motel One brand. The staff were professional, courteous, and efficient throughout our visit. In particular, the gentleman working behind the bar during the two evenings we stayed (23rd–24th January 2026) whose name we unfortunately did not catch was friendly and welcoming. He provided fast, attentive service despite the bar being busy, which further enhanced our experience. While we did not partake in the hotel’s breakfast service, the dining facilities appeared well-presented and inviting. In conclusion, our stay at Motel One Newcastle was exemplary and provided a sophisticated, comfortable, and memorable setting for our anniversary. We would recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

The room was serviced and immaculate. The bar area is really smart albeit a bit pricy but not massively so for a city. This is our go to hotel for future visits.
