This was the third time we had visited the Kilbirnie, as part of a coach trip. We have family living in Cornwall so we are able to meet up with them. We enjoy staying in this hotel, the meals are good and the staff very friendly and helpful. We have already booked to return in November for their turkey and tinsel holiday. We had to take our own cases into the hotel from the coach, but there is a ramp and then a lift to the upper floors, so it wasn't a problem. Something new from when we last visited, if you don't have your room serviced, each occupant of the room can get a voucher for either half a pint of beer or cider, a small house wine, or a soft drink. This helps the environment and also helps the guest. There was entertainment on most evenings. The hotel also has both an indoor and outdoor pool, but we didn't try either so cannot comment on them. The dining room was bright and sunny, and the breakfast buffet very good. You helped yourself to tea or coffee, the tea included green tea, but not fruit or herbal teas, and as we drink herbal and fruit teas, we just took our own down and used them. There was a good choice of a continental breakfast, including various juices cheese and sliced ham, croissants, danish pastries, fruit and yogurt and various cereals, if you wanted porridge, you could ask for it. White and brown toast, which you made yourself, with jam, marmalade or honey and the usual variety of hot breakfast items. There was only fried eggs on the buffet, but you could ask for other types of egg. I had scrambled eggs. You made your choice of evening meal at breakfast, there was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. A bottle of water was placed on each table which we liked. The staff were very efficient in the restaurant. You could get drinks during the day of tea and coffee etc, but not any food. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the main shopping center of Newquay, walking on the pavement overlooking the sea. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel.

“Great hotel and location”

First class location , cliff top views. Lovely staff and large bedrooms . Nice bar area and lots of seating . We had buffet breakfast hot and cold on offer , The evening meal was table service and good choice from the menu . Would give the Hotel 10/10 for food . 10/10 for value for money .

Really nice and friendly staff and a clean hotel a few minutes walk to the numerous beaches or to town or train station .

The room was very comfortable and spacious, with everything you need. I would definitely recommend, and it's definitely good value for money. I've deducted one star because it's not terribly well sound-proofed. I was woken up by other guests who decided to have a meeting in the hallway at 0645 despite the do not disturb sign 🤦🏻‍♀️ Not the hotel's fault, but if you're a sensitive sleeper (which I'm not!!) it's just worth noting that your room won't be silent! Also the parking situation is very tight, I was lucky and got a spot out the front, but I wouldn't have wanted to go through the tunnel to the back bit!
