“Relaxing Break by the ocean”

We booked the Fistral Suite to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday, and it was the perfect choice. • Yes, guests at The Headland Hotel And Spa have highlighted that: We booked the Fistral Suite to celebrate my partner's 50th birthday, and it was the perfect choice. The suite offers a stunning view over Fistral Beach and the ocean, and we selected The Headlands Hotel specifically for its dog-friendly, relaxed atmosphere — it did not disappoint. The Room - The suite itself is beautifully appointed and wonderfully spacious. It comprises a generous bathroom, ample wardrobe and storage space, a comfortable sitting room with TV, and a separate bedroom accessed through double doors, complete with an impressively large bed — a particular highlight for my partner, who is 6ft 5! The room also includes tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Practical touches such as radiator heating and a fan meant we were comfortable regardless of the weather. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout our stay. Dining - We dined at the hotel restaurant every morning and on two evenings, and thoroughly enjoyed every visit. Breakfast offers an excellent range, from a continental spread to a generous selection of hot dishes. The evening menu is equally varied and consistently delicious. The restaurant benefits from large windows on one side, framing a beautiful view of the ocean. Dogs are welcomed in both Ren Mor and the Ballroom dining areas, and in our experience this in no way detracts from the dining atmosphere. For those who prefer a dog-free environment, a raised section is available. Spa - We made the most of the Spa and booked treatments, which were thoroughly relaxing. Booking a treatment also grants access to the Relaxation area, where a selection of teas and biscuits are available, as well as the sauna, steam rooms, pool and jacuzzi — a lovely added bonus. Unfortunately we never got to experience the Aqua Club during our time there Staff - The staff are warm, attentive and always on hand without being intrusive. We found the Concierge particularly helpful, assisting us in finding the best local gardens to visit and recommending nearby bars showing football matches. Location - The hotel's location is excellent. Fistral Beach is just a couple of minutes' walk away, with a selection of shops, restaurants and bars close by. Newquay town centre is approximately a ten-minute leisurely stroll — we walked at a gentle pace as our dog is blind — with a few additional beaches to discover a little further along. We also enjoyed a meal at Rick Stein's relaxed restaurant nearby, where we had a wonderful fish and chips — and, happily, it was dog friendly too, along with the other restaurants there During our stay, the terrace was closed due to strong winds. However, there are charming sheltered alcoves cut into the hillside on the path down to the beach, each with deckchairs. These provided a perfect, wind-sheltered spot to sit and read — a lovely alternative. We would not hesitate to return and would highly recommend The Headlands to anyone looking for a relaxing, dog-friendly stay on the Cornish coast. Looking forward to our next visit
