Second time of returning to this hotel and it was even better this time around! The ladies doing the massages in the spa were amazing. They made the experience very personable and it was relaxing and rejuvenating which was just what we needed ☺️ For our evening meal we were served by Rafae who was polite and friendly. He made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to make a birthday celebration even more special. He is a credit to the hotel. The food at lunch and in the evening was both delicious and presented to a high standard. They have a wide variety to choose from so there is definitely something for everyone. This hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere. All of the staff were lovely including the cleaner who helped with getting extra pillows and the Maintanance man who helped us with a tv issue. Nothing is too much trouble, and we would highly recommend staying here! 😊

Not been here for 6 years but still just as good. We actually stayed on another night than planned. Used to stay here regularly for business and always been well looked after. Staff have been exceptional but have to mention Oliver who went above and beyond to look after me and my daughter - we both have disabilities. Great central place with fantastic eateries nearby. Will definitely be back.

“Not the best Crowne Plaza - Disappointing”

We were very much looking forward to our three-night stay at the Crowne Plaza Nottingham as part of a short family break. Having previously stayed at numerous Crowne Plaza properties around the world, as well as other IHG hotels, our expectations were understandably high. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below what we would normally expect from the brand. We booked a family room for two adults and two children, which included a fold-out sofa bed. While the room itself was generally clean, it was noticeably dated and clearly showing its age. More concerning, however, was the lack of attention to detail from housekeeping. Despite the room being booked for four guests, we were consistently provided with only three sets of towels, three mugs, and three packs of biscuits. This happened every day of our stay. Basic items were also not replenished unless we specifically requested them. On multiple occasions we had to ask for toilet rolls, tissues, and bottled water, which should ordinarily be replaced automatically by housekeeping. Having to repeatedly contact staff for such basic necessities was both inconvenient and disappointing. Another significant issue was the level of noise. The walls between rooms appear to be extremely thin, and the noise from neighbouring rooms (we stayed in room 304) was excessive. On both the first and second nights we were unable to sleep until well after 1am due to loud noise from adjacent rooms. This affected not only myself but also my wife and children. We contacted reception during the night and raised the issue again the following mornings. Although staff indicated they would speak with the other guests, the situation did not improve. As a result, we experienced two very poor nights of sleep, which unfortunately impacted our ability to enjoy the following days. Disappointingly, the response from staff felt indifferent and the issue was never effectively addressed. Breakfast was acceptable but inconsistent. On several occasions food items were lukewarm or cold. We also attempted to order omelettes from the egg station, however the staff member responsible was frequently absent, making it difficult to place an order. Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing, particularly given our previous positive experiences with Crowne Plaza and other IHG properties. In comparison, this was by far the poorest experience we have had with the brand. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with a manager to discuss this further. Finally, the parking charge of £18 per 24 hours also felt excessive, particularly for hotel residents. It would be reasonable to expect a more subsidised rate for guests staying at the hotel.

The Crown Plaza is ideally located for the city centre and the Theatre. The room is more than adequate and we both slept really well. What I didn’t appreciate is getting told off my the receptionist (Maria) for making the booking with a blue light discount card. I’ve never had this card and I certainly didn’t make the reservation with it. The reservation was made using the IHG app with a preferred partner rate. When I questioned this with a really pleasant guy at reception later that day, he couldn’t explain it either. I suggest that it’s an IHG computer glitch that needs to be sorted so guests don’t get scolded by the receptionist.
