“Fantastic stay”

Fantastic little hostel. Clean, tidy, beds very comfortable. Staff pleasant and kind. Would recommend and would definitely stay again. We had a double room with shower, showers are powerful and warm. This place is right in the city centre and you hear no noise

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was it was a last minute booking as my other plans fell through.but from the moment I got there the girl on the front desk was very helpful and smiley :) even though it's a hostel I had my own little room which included a single bed(surprisingly very comfy had a really good sleep) heater which made the room nice and cozy and I definitely vey safe which is rare in some hostels. The location is perfect too if I ever come back to Nottingham in the future I definitely will return.

As father time is ushering us towards our graves with ever increasing haste, the missus declared she'd like to do at least one more festival, like what we did when we were young, before our bones crumble to dust entirely. So both being into the heavier end of the musical scale, we settled on Download at Donington Park for this (possibly) last hurrah. Naturally, as we're of a certain age, we no longer have the patience to spend the best part of a week in a tent, so we decided to get some affordable digs in Nottingham, preferably one with it's own bathroom, and use the airport express bus to get us torom the festival each day. When searching online for somewhere to stay, Igloo popped up and I remembered the name from a previous visit up here for a combined gigootball weekend with some mates several years back. It's mainly a hostel and on that occasion we bunked together in a 3 berth room, but on closer inspection, it turned out that they now had a couple of fully contained rooms with en suite shower and toilet. Sited in central Nottingham and literally round the corner from the bus stop we required and with us due to be basically out all day every day for the entire weekend, that was just what we needed. Check in was easy, guy on reception showed us to our room, which keys got us access to which doors etc. Room was a simple affair with a double bed, table and a couple chairs. Bathroom was practically new however and had clearly been renovated recently. Shower was a nice size and good flow too. Bed was firm but comfy. Maybe a little low for my taste, but I'm nitpicking here. We both slept like the dead after three 14hr days mostly on our feet. Overall, it did the job perfectly. If you need somewhere to just get your head down for a couple of nights, then you could do a lot worse than the Igloo. No, it is not the Ritz and there's no room service or minibar, but it's clean, tidy and serves it's purpose well.
