We enjoyed our stay here. They had everything to make your stay comfortable- snacks, drinks, hair dryer, charging stations, a fan for extra white noise- it really was perfect. Beds were comfortable too. When I was accidentally locked out of my room, the owner came late in the evening to let me in. Everyone was friendly. It is a 15 minute walk into town but buses are around as well and restaurants close by.

We have just completed our fantastic visit in Oxford, staying at The St Margaret's Hotel. It’s one of the best run, attentive and pleasant Hotels we have ever stayed in - in Oxford, where we are regular visitors, for many, many years, due to the fact that we have family living in Summer Town (a part of Oxford). It is a family run establishment, and the manager and assistant manager were most welcoming and accommodating in every way – over several days, of our stay. The place has a fantastic garden, where birds and squirrels are as welcome, as the guests, arriving from the four corners of the world. The breakfast room is in a lovely conservatory, facing the beautiful garden – and the fantastic, lively wildlife! Everybody seems to admire this, during breakfast time. Breakfast food is freshly made and there is a self-service system, with a fantastic choice – catering from Asian food to ‘full English’, very generously. The kitchen staff is incredibly kind and attentive! Our room was on the first floor, a very comfortable one, facing the garden, so we could continue admiring the birds even from there. The room is a good size for two, with very comfortable double bed, lovely linen, and very nice pillows. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a large flat screen tv, with not only BBC, etc but even Netflix. The wi-fi was also working well, most of the time, and it is free. The manager is incredibly kind and attentive, as is the assistant manager. They are on the site 24/7 – giving a hand any time we required. The place is clearly extremely well run, and we can assure, that we will return here, next time – when we come to visit our family (soon!). There is also car-parking facility for those, who require it. Otherwise, there is a perfect, bus service, a 10 minutes journey, to Oxford centre with buses running frequently (where it is impossible to park, anyway) - and even direct bus service every half an hour, to the railway station. Very helpfully, the live timetable is displayed in the foyer, near the Reception area – and the nearest bus stop is 2 minutes – walking: very slowly! 😊 All in all, we feel we have found a fabulous place to stay again, and we absolutely will, choose it upon our return to Oxford!! “Great place for solo travellers”

A delightful little hotel just up the road from the centre of Oxford and right opposite the entrance to St Hugh's College. My room was traditionally furnished and with all the things you need from a hotel, tv, kettle, wardrobe, decent bedding, towels, shower gels, and a goodly sized en-suite shower room. There was also a nice modern touch of a plug tower with USB ports for charging devices. I travel with medical equipment and often rooms don't have enough plugs to cope with my medical kit, and allow you to charge devices. No problem here though, and that was a very nice touch. Check in was very easy and after you are given your key, you are free to come and go as you please. The nearby bus stop takes you to the Summertown shops in one direction, where there are a few nice places to eat, or buy supplied. Another bus takes you into the centre of Oxford in under 5 minutes. All in all, a terrific little hotel that I will be using again.

Many positives to this property. Clean, comfortable, decent quality curtains (so a decent sleep), lovely building with many period features, beautiful garden, onsite parking, close enough to walk into town (25-30mins) but bus option also available. All staff encountered were just lovely and could not have been more accommodating. I would have no qualms recommending this hotel. Only a couple of downsides for me: Mirror in the bathroom set too high. At 5'2" all I could see was my hairline. Not great for doing makeup! Cooked breakfast was luke warm and should/could have been much warmer to make it palatable. That being said, all the other breakfast options - fruit, cereals, selection of bread - were excellent.
