I have stayed with my husband for a few days in the past at Five Way Apartments but this time I took my whole family ….. yes we enjoyed it that much we took the family !!!! My parents, my brother, sister in law, their two young boys and my husband and I. We had the most amazing week !!!!! Paignton is a fabulous holiday destination in the UK and Five Way Apartments was fantastic holiday accommodation for us all. We hired Broadsands Cottage, The Hollicombe and The Goodrington and they were all fantastic. The rooms / cottage were incredibly clean and fresh, everything you could need for your stay from fresh linen, luxurious towels and a very comfortable ambiance to relax in after a full day of adventuring and discovery. We were lucky enough to be blessed with a fair few days of great weather, so we could get out walking and discovering the beautiful coast and views. With the huge beach just across the road and views all the way over to Torquay it has to be a daily visit just to soak it all up. I cannot recommend Five Ways enough, we met the owners on a few occasions and they couldn’t do enough for us, from recommending places to visit or help us out with any of our questions about the area. If you are looking for a fabulous base to discover the English Riviera then you will not be disappointed with Five Ways. Make sure you take a visit to Harbour Lights for dinner / drink ….. it’s our favourite place !!! Oh and Chandlers for breakfast / brunch on the main street is a must !!!!

“The perfect base to explore South Devon”

(This review is written by a couple in their 70s with arthritic knees who can’t walk very far.) We arrived to find reserved parking places in front of the apartments and loved the studio apartment on the ground floor. A few steps with handrails to the front door posed no problem, and the room was spotlessly clean, with everything we could want, including comfortable furniture. We particularly liked the USB sockets either side of the bed, to charge phones and tablets without having to unplug bedside lights! The lofty room was airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows providing a view of the green and the sea. A ten minute walk led to the harbour, with lots of seating en route. We no longer have a dog, but Paignton is a very dog-friendly town, and many pets were sitting with their owners around restaurant tables, however dogs aren’t allowed on the beach in the summer but are welcome on other beaches nearby: Fairy Cove is dog friendly all year around as is the North beach at Goodrington Sands. During the weekend the town was very busy, but weekdays were calmer and supermarkets were only a five minute drive away. Parking on the Esplanade is free for Blue Badge holders. We recommend arriving early for lunch, earlier still for a full English breakfast, at the River Shack at Stoke Gabriel and bagging a parking space for a few hours, eating while watching yachts, dinghies, kayaks, birds, swimming dogs and kids delighted by crabs caught using kits bought on site. In the opposite direction, The Smugglers’ Inn on the way to Dawlish had plenty of convenient parking and a good menu including a carvery and impressive choice of vegetables, consumed while watching sheep in an adjacent field. We also walked from our apartment to the harbour and found the Harbour Lights restaurant to be very good indeed, whether eating inside or out, at ground level or on the roof overlooking the sea (which I understand is accessible by lift). Nearby is a very pleasant café, Molly’s, and we could have walked round the harbour past the fish and chip shop, a pub and another restaurant, had we been staying longer. A short drive can lead to pretty villages, to Exeter, to Torquay and even to Dartmoor. We didn’t take a trip on the Dart Steam Railway from Paignton station, but other residents did, and had a wonderful day out. The owners of Five Way Apartments, Mr and Mrs Clarke, were very welcoming and helpful, and clearly enjoy providing a good standard of accommodation and support to their visitors. I can fully recommend Five Way and our hosts, and wish them every success in the future.

“Perfect location overlooking the sea.”

The apartment is modern, bright and airy and with everything you need provided for you to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped and apartment has plenty of storage space. There is car parking available in front of the building and once parked we didn't touch the car until we left again. … more

The apartment is modern, bright and airy and with everything you need provided for you to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped and apartment has plenty of storage space. There is car parking available in front of the building and once parked we didn't touch the car until we left again. The hosts provide a lot of information on what to do and see and places to visit. The town is within easy walking distance as is the bus station, train station and harbour if you want to make use of the public transport which we did. We spent four days at out apartment in Paignton and the location is such that it's easy to explore the surrounding areas. We found the best and worse pub in Paignton and had some amazing food, in the best one obviously. We made the most of the nice weather and went to Brixham and Torquay which are easily accessible by public transport. A lovely place for a break and I'm sure we'll be back!
