“Very modern”

Great hotel, excellent rooms, cleaned to a very high standard. Cute little flannels left on the children’s beds by Kirsty who cleaned our room. Very pleased thank you!

We were late checking in but was no problem for the smiley friendly receptionist who apologised there were no ground floor rooms ( I walk with a walker) I hadn't booked an accessible room and was ok with room id been given.

The Inn was clean and the staff friendly and efficient as always. The room looked quite bare as so much has now been removed. The Inn was clean and the staff friendly and efficient as always. The room looked quite bare as so much has now been removed. There is only a small circular table to put things on, (I don't count the folding case stand or the small shelf under the tea shelf). There is no light on or above this table and it's cluttered with menus, a fan etc. The bedside table has become a pitifully small shelf totally inadequate for glasses, drink, medicine, phone and a book. I feel that the drive for economy has gone too far and value for money has fallen. Customer comfort and convenience has taken a fall. I had been warned that the attached restaurant was not particularly good and so it proved. On both mornings the cooked breakfast was not very warm and almost cold on one day. I would also award them a prize for the most plastic fried egg I have ever eaten. I have stayed at a Travelodge recently, (I normally avoid them), and was surprised to find it very acceptable and quite close to Premier Inn standard and at a cheaper price. Premier Inn needs to revisit it's room comforts and fittings or it will lose custom. I wonder if they are trying to force customers to pay more for a 'Premier' room just to have what should be basic facilities.
