Visiting family in Portsmouth and this hotel was very reasonably priced for a Friday to Monday stay, and as I use the same group for business visits to Liverpool and Stockport 4 times a year, I knew what to expect. The location just off the motorway was ideal as Waterlooville, Gosport and Portsmouth were all places involved in the trip, the check in was smooth and when I mentioned I had originally booked 2 nights then added a third they made a note so I didn’t have to change rooms, food and drink are perfectly acceptable if a little over the price a northerner is used to. Couldn’t fault any of the staff, all pleasant enough, would I stay here again ? Yes.

Excellent room and bathroom with everything you could need. Great breakfasts and all staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet and modern decor with patio communal area and plants for sitting out when weather good. What not to like ! Would certainly stay again if in area.

Let's start with the positives: The room itself was wonderful, it was spacious, the bed was huge and very comfortable with a choice of soft / hard pillows and a lovely fluffy duvet. Our room was on the first floor, there is no lift so if you have mobility problems definitely specify when booking. The air con was great allowing us to keep the room at a comfortable temperature and the bathroom was spotless and equipped with Dove branded toiletries including hand soap, body wash and shampoo. The double glazing worked amazingly well and you couldn't hear the traffic from the very busy road outside when the windows were closed. The negatives: The toilet was bizarrely low down, I'm only 5ft 3 and I felt like I was almost sitting on the floor, my taller husband found it uncomfortable being so low down. Breakfast, wow, this was a disaster on both mornings we were there but doubly so on Sunday. There were two very young staff members running round looking overwhelmed and without direction. All the empty tables were piled high with dirty dishes, there was food all over the floor and tables. They ran out of food which left several very angry people. We came down around 9am and there were no muffins, no croissants, no bread for toast, no pancakes and no milk for the limited amount of cereal. It felt like the staff were on their own and bless their hearts they were trying their absolute best, but you could tell they were stressed. Ultimately, the room was great and breakfast is free so we didn't feel like we'd lost out on anything, we still had coffee and a bite to eat from what was available. We'd stay again, but it wouldn't be our first choice. Thanks for reading!

“Standard Express with excellent staff”

Plenty of parking, unsure on cost as I dont pay but I think it was relatively cheap. Receptionist was exceptional, explained everything and was very friendly. Rooms were as you expect from an express, bed was huge, shower was average. Overall I would stay here again.
