Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport

We stayed at this Radisson again as we attend the Donington race meetings. The hotel is fine, price reasonable, but the £15 charge to park your car overnight is steep - and obviously aimed at those going on holiday from East Midlands airport. Frustrating as we are just parking overnight as we attend two days at Donington Park circuit. We use the lobby bar, but we don't use the Runway restaurant anymore (we go into Castle Donington). Hotel rooms are ok, but the 'hum' droning noise from the airconditioning or whatever it is in the bathroom is not welcome. It has been going on for a long time (we stay here maybe three times a year). So keep the toilet and bathroom doors shut. But the hotel is a handy location and does the job.

“Not impressed”

Stayed here 2 nights- before early morning flight to Lanzarote and then overnight on return. The room was overheated and could not be temperature regulated. “If you like it warm stay here!!”

Stayed for 3 days. The superior runway view room on the 4th floor was very warm, even with air conditioning turn down to max. A fan was supplied but only blew the already warm room air around. Stayed for 3 days. The superior runway view room on the 4th floor was very warm, even with air conditioning turn down to max. A fan was supplied but only blew the already warm room air around. The toilet had a flush problem, bathroom door squeaked and no body lotion was provided. After reporting to reception all issues were looked at but the air conditioning and toilet problems could not be rectified. Also there are no opening windows in the hotel so everywhere feels warm and stuffy. Good room points were - a limited end of runway view through a clean window, cold fridge, coffee machine (no small cups to fit the machine though), good shower power, bathrobes & slippers, safe, complimentary water. Quiet area of hotel apart from doors closing!! Breakfast was all buffet (ask if you want poached or fried eggs!!) but a lot of food items were uncovered so not hygenic as a lot of people were sneezing and coughing openly (and worse outside the entrance!!!) Praise to all the staff encountered. Very polite and helpful. Special thanks to Zach on front desk who went beyond to salvage our stay. Most customers seemed to be flying to/from the airport.
