Stayed here two nights and it was a fantastic experience! I chose it for ease, just a few minutes from the town centre and an easy run in to the car park from the main roads. However I was absolutely blown away by the hotel which I presumed would be very corporate and utilitarian- how wrong could I be. The room itself was superb, clean, well stocked and spacious- I admit to choosing a suite but I was after comfort. What it meant was that my wife and I had separate bathrooms which was a luxury, but the bedroom was superb as was the bed, the views from the room were lovely and we had the opportunity to spread out. I should add that we fall into the pensioner category so comfort is something we seek. However the room was just part of a great stay, the bar area opening out to greenery and down to the river was lovely, we spent some great down time there, the bar prices were in my opinion reasonable with a wide wine range and good beers available. The breakfasts were excellent, sometimes you expect less in terms of quality from large hotels but this was not the case here. The hot and cold foods were plentiful and tasty, I would suggest that maybe their coffee offerings could be a bit more adventurous but that is a small complaint. I found the check in staff really helpful and the staff overall were a credit to the hotel. This is probably the best corporate type hotel I have stayed in and would come back without hesitation. Interestingly as I was checking out and sayinghow great the stay had been, I heard someone else checking out saying exactly the same thing. Great stay in Stratford, made all the better for where we were staying. Well done to all!

Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon Date of stay: 28–29 April 2026 Room: 3072 – 1 King Standard Room As a loyal IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) guest for over 20 years — historically staying around 70–100 nights per year, and now around 30–40 nights per year post-Covid — I feel I know the brand well. This stay at Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon-Avon was very much in line with the standards I have come to expect from the brand: clean, comfortable, professional and welcoming. It was possibly my favourite hotel stay of the year so far, with only a couple of small points that stopped it from being quite perfect. Arrival & Check-In • The hotel was easy to find using sat nav and postcode, making for a smooth and straightforward journey. • Parking was convenient, with a large car park by the main entrance and surrounding the hotel. I paid £13.00 per night, purchased via the hotel’s internal check-in system. • Check-in was quick, warm and welcoming. The front desk team made an excellent first impression — genuinely friendly, professional and a pleasure to chat with. • As an IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite member, I was warmly acknowledged and offered the choice of bonus points or a complimentary drink, which was much appreciated. • The only slight disappointment was that I was not offered a room upgrade. This has now been the case at each IHG stay I have had this year, which is a little disappointing as a Diamond Elite member, although I do appreciate upgrades are always subject to availability. Room & Cleanliness • The room was very clean, well maintained and exactly what I would expect from a Crowne Plaza. • Fixtures, fittings and linens were fresh, tidy and well presented. See attached photos. • The only real let-down was the room view, which overlooked the main banquet/function area rather than the more attractive parts of the hotel or grounds. Dining Experience • The evening bar menu offered the familiar Crowne Plaza range, including pizzas, burgers and similar options, with enough variety for most guests. • The open-plan bar and dining area had a relaxed, informal atmosphere, which worked well for an easy evening meal. • I ordered the Pan-Roasted Cod Loin with Parmesan and almond crumb, sautéed new potatoes, creamed leeks and peas, fine green beans and lemon oil, priced at £23.00. • The dish was nicely presented and enjoyable, although the portion was on the small side for the price. • Unfortunately, no one checked back during the meal to ask how everything was, so I did not have the opportunity to mention this at the time. • Breakfast offered a good selection of continental and cooked options. • I particularly liked that omelettes, poached eggs, boiled eggs and fish were available freshly prepared, which added a nice quality touch to the breakfast service. Check-Out • Check-out was smooth and efficient, handled by professional and courteous staff. Overall This was a very comfortable, clean and well-run hotel, with a particularly welcoming reception team who made a strong first impression. The hotel has a lovely feel to it and delivered the reliable Crowne Plaza experience I had hoped for. The only disappointments were the lack of a room upgrade again as a Diamond Elite member, the view from the room, and the slightly small portion size at dinner. These were relatively minor points, though, and overall this was possibly my favourite hotel stay of the year so far. I would be very happy to return. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ — 4.5/5

Another annual visit to Crown Plaza and once again very enjoyable. Check in quick and efficient. Room clean, well maintained but there it does loose one star because of the view or non existent view - just roof tops. As my husband is an IHG member and booked a superior room with a view this wasn't what we had in mind. Besides this the room was very comfortable with lovely bathroom and walk in shower. We ate in the restaurant , really enjoyed the food and again staff very professional. Terrace is a great place with views over the river. Excellent breakfast with everything you could wish for, good quality products Plenty of payable parking. Overall a good visit and we will return.
