From pulling into the drive just had a good feeling about this guest house a beautiful building and areas outside to include the view. Andrew was absolutely delightful made to feel extremely welcome. The art work gallery was brilliant got my youngest imagination going. Rooms were 5star beautiful set out and decorated and the bed was like heaven sleeping on. Cleaners were absolutely on point didn’t miss anything. Don’t know we’re to start on breakfast but will go with the bacon oh my how delicious 😋 the scrambled egg was mouthwatering good a great breakfast menu to choice from kids had fun with the childrens section. Can’t thank you enough for the best week away from home ferndale lodge for the most amazing week. Hope to stay again soon

We just got back from a long weekend away at Ferndale lodge. Nice friendly welcome even though we were late getting there due to traffic. All Covid rule explained . We just got back from a long weekend away at Ferndale lodge. Nice friendly welcome even though we were late getting there due to traffic. All Covid rule explained . We stayed in room 6 which was the four poster bed room . Lovely decorate room with all you needed for you stay I.e. coffee, tea etc. Lovely comfy bed. Room with a view over the terraced and gardens . Breakfast lady was real warm and welcoming and made the breakfast experience very relaxed. Lovely menu choice , we went with full English and smoked salmon scrambled egg. Wow the sausage with the full English was so good best we have ever had in a breakfast 😋😋. We definitely recommend and return

Just back from a week's visit. Great location, easy walk into the town or the beach, and Babbacombe also within walking distance. Good choice for breakfast, and the food was lovely. Bedroom was well equipped, with everything you would need. There's a small communal kitchen which is ideal for storing drinks and milk on the fridge. Car park is tight, but everybody got parked every day. Both the host Andrew, and the girl serving breakfast couldn't do enough to help you. We'll definitely be back

We had the twin room 7, which was light and bright, very clean and tidy with shower. Tea and coffee making facilities and bottles of still and sparkling water ( which I prefer) replenished daily. There was a small communal kitchen should you run out of these things for you to help yourself, which also had a microwave fridge and iron with ironing board to use. Breakfast was beautiful presented, with a good menu of choice offered daily with choice of time you would like, also cereals/ yoghurts where available too. All staff were very pleasant and friendly nothing was too much trouble for them. Lots of the B&B’s were too chintzy and floral, but these rooms stood out from the rest. Pale greens and greys with clean lines. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The small things like reed diffusers dotted around the place made it smell lovely. There was a small guest kitchen with a fridge, microwave, and iron. There was extra tea and coffee if required. And if you didn’t feel like going out you could get a microwave meal. There were extra plates and cutlery. We had one of the twin rooms which was decorated in pale grey. White linen and lovely towels. There were toiletries and a hairdryer, the Electric points had USB points. There was also a fan as the room did get quite hot. There was a TV and kettle. There was a small breakfast room which had everything you could wish for. Tea, coffee, juice. Cereal toast and pastries. Because of COVID you had to book a breakfast slot to ensure social distancing between quests in the breakfast room. Breakfast was amazing and tasty and perfectly presented. Full English, poached eggs, scrambled smoked salmon and fruit pancakes was superb. Andrew the proprietor, well what can I say? Such a lovely man, quietly spoken, and nothing too much trouble There was a small bar which we made use of, a bell on reception indicated to Andrew that someone was waiting or needed something. It was usually us asking for shandy or wine or a recommendation to a restaurant. It was a 15 minute walk into the harbour, through the pedestrianised shopping area. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants. From the harbour you can get buses, boats to Brixham and Paignton and Dartmouth is definitely worth a visit. We would definitely recommend this little gem. It also has a small outdoor terrace and free parking on site.
