However the £600 for one night imp isn't worth the money. We were expecting a delicious breakfast with a menu to order fresh after paying that sort of money for 1 night . However premium inn breakfasts are better. Tough bacon, over heated eggs ect

“Fabulous hotel in great location.”

We were booked into this hotel as a surprise for our ruby wedding anniversary. On arrival we were greeted at the car park entrance by name which was a nice touch. When we checked in we were wished a happy anniversary. Again a nice touch. After check in the concierge, Oliver, showed us around so we knew where to find the breakfast room, restaurant and spa area. He then took us to our room. To our surprise we had been upgraded to a room with a hot tub. We were in room 118, on the first floor and overlooking the parking area. The large king size bed had been decorated with rose petals and an anniversary message written on the mirror. All small things but a lovely personal touch. The room was large and clean. Bed comfortable. Also a sofa. The bathroom was clean with a shower over the bath which worked fine. Toiletries was left for us, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We had a kettle with a selection of teas and coffee. A hairdryer was provided. There was also an in room safe. The hot tub was on an enclosed balcony which when we used it meant you could see trees outside and not the car park. The breakfast was excellent. Everything you could possibly want and regularly replenished. One morning we had to wait for about 5 minutes for a table as it was busy but you waited on a comfortable sofa and they came and got you when the table was ready. We used the pool a couple of times. It was a decent pool with seating around it and access to the bar. There was a hot tub, steam room and sauna. The sauna was quite small. When we were there the pool was never busy, although I had read other reviews saying how packed it got. I guess that’s just a timing thing. There are lockers but they were a bit tricky to get to work. It was certainly not the smallest pool I have seen in a hotel. It was about a five minute walk to the main lake front. All in all a lovely hotel and a great stay. Would definitely go back.

We arrived early so were shown round the hotel by Andy who was brilliant with welcoming drink in hand and it was no trouble to leave our bags so after 3pm they would be in our room which was across the car park near the spa which wasn't ideal as there wasn't any connecting walkway through to breakfast room / main hotel. If weather was better this may not have been such an issue. Room had a small lounge with TV , plenty of tea/ coffee which together with the Elemis branded toiletries were replenished daily when the room was cleaned around 15.30 each day. Bathroom was tiny and bedroom has adequate storage for a short stay. We were supplied with bathrobes - these are not complimentary but slippers were. Both were handy to wear to walk to the spa which was common practice with most guests. No booking needed whilst we were there and the place was never that crowded . Spa very dark but comfortably warm . Watch the steps getting into jacuzzi as several were stumbling in and out as push button for the tub near the sauna was on the wall not by the side of the tub so in and out every 5 mins. We didn't have any issues with the dim lighting but could have done with better lighting near all steps. Food - Breakfast superb - choice and just left to help yourselves. Muzumi Restaurant . Decor was beautiful but food lets it down . Vague guidance on what to order but as a couple we ordered 2 large mains and 3 sides to share and this was more than enough. Same one bowl was used for all food and lack of serving spoons . Thai fish dish and chicken dish with dark thigh meat seemed to have almost identical sauce . Sweet potato side was overcooked as was the rice which didn't have any coconut taste.Stir fried side veg dish was generous but again coated in a generic tasting sauce . Reasonably priced though and service was good although there was a struggle to find the booking . We chose not to have wine as we overheard another guest was discussing the quality of the bottle they had ordered. Very salty aftertaste of food the next morning .Both agreed an OD of soy sauce as a base. Location - 5 min walk to lake /shops but hotel is on a hill so some guests could see this as an issue. Train station is a good 10 min drive . Order taxi early as there was severe shortage of them the morning we departed but receptionist was so helpful and phoned around for us so we didn't miss our train but taxi driver was over run with bookings - not helped by lots of temp traffic lights on journey. Signage puts 5 stars by the logo but no clarity as to who had awarded such . Average prices for the stay with reasonable bar tariff. We didn't have any bar food as so many good places to try nearby. Staff were very presentable and they certainly enhance your stay .We paid for a basic room which for us gave good value as some guests seem to comment on rooms being expensive. We didn't feel the need to be charged extra for a hot tub as spa has 2 which we tried. Great views of lake from generous comfortable non smoking outside bar terrace.

**Location** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel boasts an excellent location for anyone planning to spend time in Bowness. It is incredibly convenient, situated only a ten-minute walk from the village centre. **Room** ⭐⭐⭐ We stayed in room 108, which features a hot tub and is advertised as having a lake view. In reality, the view is quite minimal and overlooks the outdoor seating area; do not expect grand vistas. Furthermore, you cannot view the lake while in the hot tub, as you will be looking at frosted glass installed to provide privacy from the cocktail bar below. While the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable, the décor felt a little tired. We noticed peeling wallpaper and plaster, along with some stains on the couch, suggesting a need for redecoration. Additionally, there was significant noise from the central corridors and ground-floor seating. The hotel would benefit from investing in soundproofing/corridor doors for rooms located near the main facilities. **Breakfast** ⭐⭐⭐ The breakfast was well prepared and tasty, offering a wide variety of choices to suit different tastes. **Spa Treatment** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I booked a one-hour full-body massage for £95. The service was excellent, and I would highly recommend the professional team here for treatments. **Spa/Pool/Pub** ⭐⭐ We opted to eat at the pub, which offered reasonably priced, good-quality food. However, the atmosphere was slightly marred by loud trance and house music, which didn’t quite fit the pub vibe. The spa itself was disappointing. It is essentially an old-fashioned pool area with fancy lighting rather than a true spa experience. While the changing rooms were very clean, they appeared tired in places. In my opinion, this is more of a leisure centre pool that offers treatments rather than a dedicated spa. **Cocktail Bar** ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The bar features a great selection of cocktails and is staffed by lovely, attentive team members. The outdoor seating area is pleasant and modern. **Check-in Experience** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The reception staff were lovely. A particularly impressive touch was that the staff at the gatehouse already knew our names upon arrival, making for a very welcoming start. **Summary** We paid £540 for a one-night stay in a suite. As is often the case, this is a hotel that appears much more polished on social media than it does in person. While it is full of "Instagrammable" features, the fundamental aspects of a luxury stay- which one would expect at this price point - are currently lacking. If you want a good quality hotel in the Lakes, that's conveniently located to Bowness, then this is a good option. If you want a great quality hotel and spa, then at this price point there are much better options elsewhere in the Lakes, Cumbria or Yorkshire.  I wouldn't go rushing back.
