“Perfect menu for a light lunch”

The Aviary bar part of the Feathers is the perfect place for a light meal, though some of the mains are substantial. A lovely bright conservatory feel annexed to the hotel, with a terrace. Nice air con. Prompt friendly service. Recommend the pizzas, soup, ciabattas etc. Really pleasant on a hot day.

This is a really good hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you . We arrived during a heatwave into a beautiful cool air conditioned reception , the bags were taken straight up the the room . The private car park is only a 5 minute walk away . The room was immaculate and the bed was super comfy . We ate at their nest restaurant where we had the most beautifully presented food that was delicious . The air conditioning in the restaurant was very cold, possibly a little too cool but seeing as it was over 30 degrees outside it was a relief . The staff were very attentive in the restaurant, it’s a shame it wasn’t full . We had breakfast back in the nest restaurant where, there was a good choice of pastries, fruit juice, yogurts and granola,muesli and fresh fruit. The Cooked menu was good, we particularly enjoyed the sourdough crumpet with scrambled egg and smoked salmon Blenheim Palace is literally 5 mins away. As we checked out of the hotel we asked the receptionist to fill up our water bottles, not only did she fill them up she also put crushed ice in them which stayed cool all day . We will definitely be coming back , this is how a hotel should be .

“A luxury country retreat with easy access to local sights and nearby towns”

Feathers is located just outside of Oxford in Woodstock, a 5 minute walk to Blenheim Palace grounds and a 20 minute bus ride into central Oxford. A stunning hotel, beautiully executed with amazing staff. Feathers is located just outside of Oxford in Woodstock, a 5 minute walk to Blenheim Palace grounds and a 20 minute bus ride into central Oxford. Rooms of a high standard with really comfortable beds. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Nest and also the local pubs nearby. Free Parking which is a bonus for those of us doing driving holidays. Also well located to visit Clarksons Farm and The Farmers Dog pub, only a 20 minute drive away.

Afternoon tea: The Nest, Woodstock Friendly greeting and offered choice of seating area. We chose (unwisely) to sit in small lounge adjacent to reception which proved a little noisy and distracting as newly checked in guests to the hotel were led through our area with porter and their luggage. … more

Afternoon tea: The Nest, Woodstock Friendly greeting and offered choice of seating area. We chose (unwisely) to sit in small lounge adjacent to reception which proved a little noisy and distracting as newly checked in guests to the hotel were led through our area with porter and their luggage. We chose the standard tea menu with Assam tea but server had to return to tell us that they had run out of this blend. Neither milk, lemon or hot water were routinely offered and we had to ask for milk. The food was traditionally served and well presented though the ratio of bread (very thick) to sandwich filling was imbalanced and somewhat sparse. Scones were served warm with cream and jam but the fruit scones had little fruit content. A few simple ‘tweaks’ wouldn’t go amiss here for a more memorable experience. Did note there are no female use rest rooms on the ground floor which may be a problem for those with mobility issues.
