“The best hotel in Glasgow”

The best hotel that I have stayed in Glasgow and I have been there many times. I would give them six star not five 🏆 The location is the best. The room is very clean . The people who work that is very polite . And if you need help with something they help you.

Sweet hotel with a Makintosh flavor. Our room was spacious, although old-fashioned, which did not deter from the comfort. The bed was very comfortable and the bath was roomy, too. Sweet hotel with a Makintosh flavor. Our room was spacious, although old-fashioned, which did not deter from the comfort. The bed was very comfortable and the bath was roomy, too. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping the room tidy every day. A big bonus is the complementary drinks and snacks in the room. Front desk staff was helpful and so very friendly. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the main train station and a block from George Square. We highly recommend it.

Just back from a great stay at the carlton George. Friendly helpful staff from arrival til departure. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a club room with free mini bar and lounge access which offered beers wine and spirits as well as tea and coffee and snacks all complimentary. Breakfast on the 7th floor was full of choice buffet , cooked to order eggs benedict, omlettes etc as well a variety of pastries fruit and cereals. We'll definitely be back again and again. Thankyou

We originally booked a Classic room originally off the the back of a very impressive website, the attractive looking rooms, an included mini-bar and brief look at reviews. A date night away from the kids whilst on holiday was the reason we chose the Carlton George. When entering the hotel, the reception wasn't very well kept with rubbish on the floor and a lack of staff (minus the reception) to greet you. No issues with checking in with a very helpful and chatty receptionist. However, entering our classic room was when the problems with the hotel occurred. The classic room we were given (on 5th floor) faced the inside exterior (you can see just other outside walls). It was dingy, dark (as if someone forgot to and the decoration old. No way to open it, so no fresh air. There was unfinished plastering around the metal grates near the air conditioning system where it looks like some maintenance had happened. Not finished. On complaining about the room, we were upgraded to a club room. It didn't seem the extra money if someone had chosen to choose it over the classic room. However, the issues of a sad and unloved hotel continued. Peeling wallpaper, broken coffee machine, dirty window seals/lamps, brokering stand-up lamp, plugs from the 90s, lamp blown in picture frame light, missing extras for the room. We proceeded to stay with the room at this point as the outside facing room was a lot brighter and had fresh air through smaller windows. The receptionist did her best to improve our stay. For people looking for a quick city-centre option for business use (close to the train station) as a must, then maybe this hotel is for you. Not for couples looking for a night or two away in the city centre. The lure on the hotel's website to book direct (10% off, £10 spend voucher to various pubs, coffee places, later checkout time) do not make up the aging hotel. The hotel's boutique appearance on the website is only a facade to an aging hotel that needs a lot of updating and a purpose in mind to decide what it is. Not having immediate managers onsite and a promised call for the complaint made on checking out (so far when writing - no call has been made from the hotel's management as the receptionist had promised). It seems customer-orientated top service is at the bottom of the hotel's priorties. The devil is always in the detail. It's certainly not 4-star (self-rated on booking websites and as an excerpt from google searches). Management really need to look at this hotel and get a grip with it. Its location advantage shouldn't just be the only selling point.
