The Liner Liverpool, inspired on a cruise ship theme, is a quirky and unique hotel located just a few minutes walk from Liverpool Line Street Station and Liverpools theatres. A good base for walking to many of the city’s attractions, 10m to the Caven Area and 20m to the docks. Check in and check out was not always quick, and on initial arrival, not very friendly, but the hotel was clearly in good condition and welcoming by itself. With only 1 lift working, things were slowed down again, but the deluxe room on deck 4 was spotless, comfy and plush. They must have really good housekeeping staff here! No air conditioning, but a large industrial fan provided in room, took care of that. The bed and pillows were very comfy. Bathroom was from back in the ages, but functional and again spotless. A large TV, hairdryer, safe, coffee making facilities, small bottles of water and cakes in a fridge met the necessities and luxuries. Nice view over the front of the hotel from room 406. We used the restaurant, Seven Seas Brasseries twice.. Gio was an highly efficient and friendly supervising waiter and was definitely the hotels best staff member. A order mix up was quickly rectified, but food was fresh and tasty and food/drinks very good value. Allergies were well dealt with by creating a bespoke dish. Thanks to Gio and the chefs! We didn’t visit the bar, but it looked busy and welcoming. Before I forget, this is the only hotel that offers free parking for the entire stay. We would stay here again as our first choice if returning to the wonderful Liverpool city.

“Pleasant stay at The Liner”

Nice clean room. Basic but had all we needed. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only criticism is they need to maintain their lifts better. I have mobility issues so could not use the stairs. Nice clean room. Basic but had all we needed. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only criticism is they need to maintain their lifts better. I have mobility issues so could not use the stairs. Only one small lift working which was very slow and at busy times (checking out time) it was full every time so it took us over half an hour to get down to the ground floor. We didn’t use the restaurant as it looked very formal and not at all inviting.

“Met all our expectations 😃”

The hotel was central and very good. The reception employees were friendly, pleasant and very helpful. The room was very clean and had everything you would expect in a good hotel. Will definitely stay there again next time we’re in Liverpool.

“City Centre situated”

The hotel/room is clean, cost reasonable, central, next to the station. The staff polite. We were on Floor 4, near to the lift. The hotel/room is clean, cost reasonable, central, next to the station. The staff polite. We were on Floor 4, near to the lift. Throughout the night there was an intermittent droning sound which kept me awake, it sounded like a generator. At Reception we were told it was likely to be the lift. The cooked breakfast was well and truly cooked. Some of the other diners shared my husband's thought and left a substantial amount on the plate. I only have fruit for breakfast and this was adequate. Would I stay there again, probably given I know what to avoid. A city centre hotel. Fridge in room a nice touch with water and cake. Also robe and slippers. Quite dark with all the wood.
