This visit rather restores my faith in the Holiday Inn brand, which let's face it, can be a little variable... Rooms were fairly priced, clean comfortable and quiet. Previously good impressions of the restaurant food were reinforced, with an imaginative menu and food quality which surpassed expectations. The dining area itself looks like an uninspiring afterthought, but this totally belies the excellent food and really pleasant service. Well done everybody! In fact, the staff throughout the hotel were exceptionally capable and friendly (maybe they were actually given some training and encouragement - if so, it shows!). My only grumble is having to pay for parking, with no discounts or rebates for IHG Members. Don't hesitate if you need to stay in this part of town.

We always stay here now when we have our annual visit to Trent bridge Always a lovely visit clean and tidy and rooms comfortable We came home from cricket at 945 and asked for snacks sandwiches nothing hot ( already advised no prawns or smoked salmon ) to be advised kitchen closed We then quest… more

We always stay here now when we have our annual visit to Trent bridge Always a lovely visit clean and tidy and rooms comfortable We came home from cricket at 945 and asked for snacks sandwiches nothing hot ( already advised no prawns or smoked salmon ) to be advised kitchen closed We then questioned as should still be open and offered sandwiches This was fine and we bought wine and drinks Many were ordering delivero and coming back with bags from Sainsbury’s So we were putting money behind the bar We had a lovely evening and had our snacks and majority of staff especially at breakfast were very accommodating An hour later staff from The 100 came in and asked for chips and no hesitation these were provided We just found it disappointing that we were told kitchen closed but an hour later hot food provided We will return as had good times but needs to be consistent

We always stay here when we come to cricket as we live being away and walk along the canal Downs When we came back was numerous coffe cups on landing A lot of tables set up for big groups had only two people sitting on them No smoked salmon and no prawns during our stay also no coffee beans at bar ( many were asking for all of these ) The boys asked for pancakes at breakfast and some were so hard they couldn’t eat them Evening meal wasn’t asked if I wanted peas or mushy peas ( just left the mushy peas) the member of staff seemed flustered. And rushed but only a few in the restaurant so was a delay in serving us and taking our order Positives Clean rooms lovely showers Staff friendly Lovely breakfast ( apart from some of the pancakes) We will return
