As the title says we used it as a base to sleep while we were in the area for three nights. We didn't want anything expensive as we wouldn't be there unless it was to sleep. We arrived an hour before check in and the staff were happy to give us the key to our room as it was ready. They were pleasant and helpful and gave us a free bottle of cold water from the bar as it was quite warm that day. The room was what you would expect when you book to stay above a pub. It was clean, well presented and looked out over the main road running through Chipping Norton. (room two) The old sash windows though did let in quite a bit of noise during the night and the beer delivery first thing one morning replaced our own alarm. That said though we expected this due to the location and being an older building. Toilet/shower did what it was meant to do so no complaints there. Maybe a bigger toilet seat though as it didn't fit the rim fully. Carpark......there is one, it only has enough room for four cars at a push and if one of those isn't parked incorrectly you may find yourself climbing in through the passenger side to get to the drivers seat. At the end of the day though they don't have to provide parking so it was all good. There are also a number of free carparks located close by that could be used. How long they'll be free for after writing this though I can't tell you as I did read in a local paper that the council are considering charges for certain areas. The room doesn't have an iron or ironing board, this is communal and located in the corridor for you to take to your room to use. Just remember to return it! There was tea, coffee, hot choc and biscuits on arrival. I always wish the biscuits would get topped up each time the room is serviced though. Haha. Overall a decent place but be wary that it can be a bit noisy at times if you are a light sleeper, but I'm sure you could ask to be put in one of the rooms away from the front when you book it.

Firstly Great Location , Cheap Price for the area,Free Parking if you can get it , Room for 4 Cars.Close to walks and all pubs and restaurants 2 minute walk.The rooms are tired but large, massive bathroom, toiletries and excellent tea tray with enough supplies for 3 days, free water and decent TV.B… more

Negatives minor,staff and locals seem to stand and smoke in the front door way, big area out the back so strange one that. Apart from that they were helpful and friendly.Amazing walks and choice with food , drink and Tea Rooms. Good Indian and The Blue Boar Pub for food and drink. We gave it an 8 !!! If you want 3-5 Star you will pay much more,the choice is yours ... Bon appetit on that .
