clean bright modern, Such a cozy apt, I'd come back. Its a lovely walk at the end of the Royal Mile. Store, coffee, restaurants, close walking distance, bus stop and easy Uber pick up at door step. Nice views and quiet outside garden to enjoy.

Peter, the manager, could not have been more accommodating and kind. The flat was immaculate and beautiful. The building itself is historic and interesting. The area is quiet and really lovely. A gem.

Fantastic location! The apartment was immaculate and beautiful, I had a very comfortable stay during my 4 nights in the Sir James Steuart one-bedroom apartment. It was fantastic being so close to the Royal Mile, yet a quiet location. It's also very convenient to the train station and airport buses. An extra treat, if you are visiting Holyroodhouse Palace (and you should!) the Physic Gardens which are the 'backyard' of the apartments are actually included in the audio/video tour and narrated by King Charles himself. The apartment has every amenity needed for a comfortable stay. Staying here made my dream of a Scottish holiday, absolutely perfect and I would certainly return. My only reasons for the 'very good' instead of 'excellent' ratings are as follows: 1) The check-in procedure could have been much smoother. According to the website you are to receive an email with pre-registration details to complete 7 days prior to your stay. On 4 days prior to my stay, when I hadn't received anything, I contacted the email provided on the website and was told I would receive details closer to the time. Fair enough. However, within a couple hours of check-in time I still had not received any details. Concerned because I was traveling solo by train and arriving after dark, I wanted to ensure that I had the code available and wouldn't have to fuss with looking at my emails or phone while trying to get in the space. I emailed and did promptly receive a reply with a code. However, upon arriving at the apartment, the code provided did not work. I called the number that was posted on the door, and was told it had not been activated. Keep in mind - I was arriving close to 9pm, well past check-in time. They activated the code while I was on the phone and it worked for the main gate and the apartment outside door. However, when I arrived upstairs to the door of my apartment - Sir James Steuart, the code didn't open the door. I called back and was given a different code to use. This worked and I had no issues the rest of my stay. However, I am left wondering if I wouldn't have proactively reached out if I would have received any information at all. The email reply I received also said there would be a registration card to complete, and I never received this either. 2) The bathroom was wonderful - a nice soaking tub, plus a shower, and lovely full-size Arran products are provided for use during your stay. My issue with the shower, however, was there was no soap rack or shelf and you had to bend down to the floor to retrieve and use the products. A minor frustration, but mentioning especially if you may have mobility issues that make it hard to bend down. At night I also noticed a sound of running water in the pipes frequently. One time I even got up to check because it was so loud it sounded like the faucet had been switched on. (It had not been.) Any of these relatively minor inconveniences were more than made up for, however, with the location. I was actually a bit sad the morning I had to check out and leave this beautiful place.
