We like to stay at Holiday Inns because the breakfast is included and there is a reasonable choice and usually good quality. The breakfast area is quite small here though for the size of the hotel. “Well located hotel in Edinburgh city”
Centrally located, decent beds and basic amenities. Right on the tram stop and close to nice eateries. Breakfast is included but no guarantee that you will get place at breakfast. The hotel is overflowing during the season.

“Basic accommodation good for 1-2 nights only”
Needs serious attention and cleaning. See photos especially the bathroom. 1 hand towel 2 bath towels that’s it. USA visitors bring your wash cloths and another linen you are used to.
