Really happy with the apartment and the customer service we received at the Knight Residence in Edinburgh. The staff were very welcoming, professional and helpful. The apartment was clean and well appointed, with comfy beds. The apartments are very well situated in Edinburgh old town. We could walk to Grassmarket, Victoria Street, Royal Mile, the Castle, Greyfriars and South Bridge in a matter of minutes. Sainsbury is literally around the corner and there are lovely coffee shops on the doorstep for tasty breakfast treats. There are some bars and strip joints in close proxmity, which might get a bit leery on a Friday/Saturday night, but we visited Sunday - Tuesday so we weren't affected by them. The apartment itself was very peaceful.

“Perfect for our family”

There were 5 of us staying in a two bedroom apartment with a sofa bed. Clean and spacious apartment with a well-equipped kitchen. Good location with easy walk to old town. Grocery store located just around the corner. We also used the paid parking located at back of property.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment as a group of four adults, and overall it offered a very spacious layout with two bathrooms, a large kitchen, a small dining area, and a generous living room. There was plenty of storage, which made settling in easy. Being on the top floor was a big plus—we didn’t experience any noise from above and very little from the neighboring unit. The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk to the Grassmarket area in Edinburgh’s Old Town. It’s a lively, historic spot with cobbled streets, great views of the castle, and a mix of shops, pubs, and restaurants, plus a Saturday artisan market. Definitely a highlight of the stay. That said, the immediate surroundings of the building may not appeal to everyone. It’s located next to several adult venues, and while we personally felt safe, the area can feel a bit sketchy at night. We did witness some late-night drug activity near the entrance. It didn’t directly impact our stay, but it’s something to be aware of—especially if traveling alone. The apartment itself is starting to show its age. The furniture is mismatched and gives more of a temporary or “hand-me-down” feel rather than a cozy, well-designed rental. At around $450 per night (April 2026 rates), updates like new flooring and a more comfortable sofa would go a long way. On the positive side, the Wi-Fi was excellent, the elevator was modern and reliable, and the parking area appeared secure (though we didn’t use it). Customer service was a standout—responsive, helpful, and professional both before arrival and during our stay. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the plumbing setup. The guest bathroom shower was particularly confusing. It requires turning on a master switch located in the hallway before you can even begin adjusting the temperature in the shower itself. This was not explained at check-in, which led to some uncomfortable experiences with extreme temperature changes, including scalding water. Once we contacted the front desk, they provided clear instructions, but this is definitely something that should be communicated upfront or included in a simple guide. In summary: great space and service, good location for exploring, but the apartment could benefit from updates and better communication around key amenities.

Our first stay in an aparthotel, so didn’t know what to expect. Overall very positive, straightforward to book, lots of useful information beforehand, checking in was smooth and we were made welcome. There was milk in the fridge and a selection of teas and coffee in the kitchen. Linen and toiletries were all good quality. Overnight it was very quiet. The location is a less than 10 minutes from the Grassmarket and 5 minutes from the bus stops. There is a Sainsbury’s Local 2 minutes away and several cafes and restaurants . We didn’t use the concierge service. It was great to have the flexibility of eating what and when we liked and to have more room to relax on comfortable sofas and armchairs. Will definitely use a Mansley again.
